Why should the NCAA care if the Paterno statue is left as is? If the emphasis to remove the statue came from the NCAA, that is yet further evidence of the widespread jealousy of Paterno. Far too many people needed Paterno to be brought down to feel better about themselves. They couldn't build themselves up to be more favorable; they had to tear Paterno down.
