Where are you placing you $

After watching Lee a little last year and watching him on Sunday I think his one flaw is as the match moves on he tends to slow down. This could very well be from not having the ability to do proper conditioning due to his knee injury.
I don't think Nato strength is his conditioning either knowing how much weight he's cutting.
The guy that scares me against Lee is that kid from Rutgers. He's got the gas tank to cause Lee and Nato trouble. They better score early against him.
Kinda reminds me when Bonomo would go against Cuvo, who was the best condition wrestler I ever saw. Bonomo would hit a big move early and hang on.

I would take Lee and 5 points all day everyday against Nato. I would put the spread at Nato at -2 right now.
Me too, though anything is possible. Lee is great on his feet, but can he break through Tomasello's defense? Then there's mat wrestling, where Nathan, imo, has a clear advantage. My thought is that the mat wrestling will win it for Tomasello, but not by a large margin.

That said...they wrestle the matches for a reason, this one will be a good one.

I would not overlook Lee's mat wrestling ability. He beat Piccininni because of his mat wrestling. TD in the first, with the 4 point tilt and lots of riding time. The tilt and riding time was the difference in the match. Question is can Lee get off the bottom?

Just an opinion.
I do not believe Lee is strong enough to deal with Tomasello's hand defense and then his hips.
I don't believe Lee is going to control the mat wrestling from the top.
I do not believe Tomasello will ride Lee either.
I figure Tomasello wins 5 to 3 or 4.

If someone wants to give me Lee and 5 points, all day long I am taking that bet.

As much as I would like to see Spencer win. Don’t know that he is ready yet.

Nato 4-0.
Nato gets takedown
Nato gets escape
Lee gets ridden for riding time point.

Hopefully I’m wrong! This will be a great lesson for Lee in the future though.

This may prove true in a tournament setting but Lizak would disagree in a dual ... Tomasello was up 2-1 after 1st, won by TF.

Yeah, Tomasello broke Lizak. Hell he got out from the bottom so fast he did not even have much of an opportunity to gas him from the bottom either.

The underlined, bolded part was my point. Tomasello is not Piccininni, I still believe advantage Tomasello on the mat.

Nato teching Lizak means very little in this match. Lizak was a train wreck who had nothing in his tank. Probably spent too much time shooting his backpack video, than cutting and training the proper way.

Lee should be ultra motivated for this match and be in optimal shape for it. Plus I mean he is in the best lightweight room in the world. And I think like four or five Iowa guys already pinned Nato in his career. So I see Spencer continuing the trend.

Honestly though this should be a close match as long as Spencer does not fade again, or if Ryan sits Nato for a good reason. I am taking Lee by a very close decision only because he is one of my favorite wrestlers to watch. My head says it’s Nathan winning, but I sticking with Lee.

Easily take Lee on that line.
Yup, this.

Tomasello's history vs. wrestlers at that level is almost entirely 5 pt wins or closer, and primarily within 3. 3 exceptions: Lizak twice, and the first match vs. Micic -- with Micic falling into the tight match category afterward.

In a lot of those matches, he didn't score > 5 points, let alone win > 5.

This weekend, I will take NaTo, come March, if NaTo still has to make weight again, I may choose differently.
