I am planning on bringing my boys to see their first home game ever at Beaver Stadium and was wanting to know best place to park near stadium (which lot is close and easy to get out of). They have been asking to go to a white out game and this looks like a good one. Also looking for places to take them on campus they are 12 and 14. Thanks for any info as I haven't been to campus for 35plus years when my father brought me as he was a die hard alum. We attended the big ten championship against Wisconsin and Rose Bowl against USC this should be the topper I hope!!!

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Bellefonte?!?!

Seriously, none of the lots - particularly for a matchup like tOSU - is going to be easy to get out of.... i’ve Parked in most, and the Red Reserved and Blue Preferred can be good for slipping out but you’d need to boogie-out with four minutes left and then run like Mannix ... but good luck scoring those passes for those spots... yellow lots are for common-folk and those poor bastards will be trapped until the wee hours of Sunday

The parking garage at the hub isn’t a terrible walk and isn’t the worst to get out of if they still allow game day parking there.

Plus since we're within 15 days of gameday to purchase one of those yellow passes you'll need to pay an expedited fee on top of the $20 cost - less you already have a pass.

Park downtown and walk out to the stadium through campus.....it’s a beautiful walk. And afterwards you’ll be able to walk back to your car and get out of town quickly and easily instead of having your blood pressure go ape-shit while you try to worm your way out of one of the parking lots near the stadium.

That’s probably what I’d do if I had no parking plans for a matchup like tOSU... though those teenagers of his are gonna be whiny and tired

Are you going just for the day? The All Sports Museum in the stadium is most likely not open on game days, but your kids would love it. Creamery (expect long lines but oh, so worth it, plus it's fun while standing in line to talk to those around you), Lion statue, WE ARE statue. Other than that, try to look into the hockey arena, rec hall and the BJC if able. Just walk through campus. If you park downtown, walk from McClanahan's up to Burrowes along College Ave, then up Burrowes and zig-zag through campus. Still the most beautiful campus I've ever seen. Hope they enjoy. They will be tired, but a PSU night game white out is the best. If you do park in the yellow lots, take a nap and let the lot clear before trying to leavet. Otherwise, you'll be stuck for at least an hour or 2 idling while everyone snakes toward the roads which will also be jammed. Have fun. Have 2 kids who graduated from PSU and they were about 10 and 8 when they first went to a game. They were hooked and never wanted to go to college anywhere else.

One could always park at Innovation Park for an easy out....if you’re up for a long walk. Not sure how shuttles and CATA Bus (Red Link) run on game day, but it’s 2 miles from the Park Ave/Fox Hollow Road intersection to Innovation Park.

Get there early - as in the AM, and park for free on Foster Ave, near the Burger King. From there you can walk downtown and spend the day or hang out at the stadium. Then you can walk out after the game and head to the car and avoid the mad rush of trying to get out from the parking lots after the game.

By the way, you know kick off is 730 PM, right? Game should be over around 11- 1130 PM.

Good idea! Is there street parking near BK?

I second this. For the App State game I parked downtown at the lot on Pugh St. across from the Sheetz and myself and my girlfriend walked to the stadium. I think it cost me less that $40 for 7 hours. Get there before it fills up.

Available on ebay for $40, cheaper than through the ticket office, and way cheaper than paying $60 and being parked at millbrook marsh on gameday.

That's over 2 miles of walking on the highway at midnight surrounded by drunk drivers with a 12 and 14 year old...

If you dont care about tailgating , you can always park at the old Hills Plaza out on Atherton Street, back in the rear of the Plaza. You can catch the CATA buses from there to University Drive and they drop off by the Jordan Center.

Amen to this. There are a number of CATA gameday shuttle locations where you can park and ride. If you are not putting on a tailgate yourself, why bother with the traffic snarls around the stafium ?

Incorrect. One can go behind the ORV lot and other tailgating lots (Orchard Road) to Wiley Lane, then back to Innovation Park.

Any recommendation for how early one needs to arrive at a downtown parking garage before it gets full for a 3:30 kick?

Our old trick. If you do not have a parking pass AND are prepared to pay the parking fee, take 99 west to the Toftrees exit. Turn off the exit and then turn right at the light. Then take another right onto Toftrees ave. Follow Toftrees ave to Fox Hollow Rd and turn right. Stay on Fox Hollow and you will come to Orchard where without the proper parking pass, you will be turned left onto Orchard. If you get there early enough, you will be pushed into lot 19. It's an area behind the Ag building and is a normal hike to the stadium. Of course unless you leave early, don't expect to get in your car and just drive right out.

I was under the impression it was like $20 if you buy in person at the BJC? Am I wrong?

Paying $60 is crazy when there are other options, even on gameday and showing up without a permit.

You'd better already have tickets or be prepared to pay a fortune. Market price is currently $225+.

As far as parking goes, as others have suggested, your best bet it to take a CATA bus Gameday Shuttle.
