I excited for the game, going to be in NYC, any recommendations for a good PSU place to watch the game I'd welcome?

Usually they always have a standout on Defense, aka Josie Jewell (Great name by the way) A.J. Espienosa (sp).

I’m not completely sure, but I’d guess the strength and conditioning guy who hasn’t sent players to the emergency room with organ damage .

Wow, bold move to bring up coach misconduct!

To answer the OP:

Tyler Goodson - RB - not a bruiser at all, but can make you miss and solid receiver with huge YAC potential
Sam Laporta - TE - top target for Petras, reliable receiver, good blocker
Tyler Linderbaum - C - excellent interior lineman, hopefully the rest of the O-line plays like last week and not the first few weeks. O-line play is probably the most concerning area going into the game.

Zack Van Valkenburg - DE - the D-line plays their responsibility and will look to collapse the pocket vs. individually rush to get to the QB. They'll play to not let Clifford get loose, especially early. ZVV is the biggest name on the d-line but they'll rotate 6- 8 d-linemen to keep everyone fresh
Jack Campbell, Seth Benson, Jestin Jacobs - solid linebacker crew with Campbell the standout (18 tackles a couple games ago)
Matt Hankins and Riley Moss - CB - each have had a 2 INT game - I think Moss leads on the season with 3 INTs (2-returned for TDs).

BTW, Josey Jewell and AJ Epenesa is the correct spelling. And AJ has a little brother on the team (special teamer) and hopefully there will be another Epenesa as future Hawkeye defensive end ... youngest has similar build and supposedly is ahead of where AJ was at that age physically/skill-wise.

On defense:

31 Jack Campbell LB 6-5 243 Jr. Cedar Falls, IA Cedar Falls
97 Zach VanValkenburg DL 6-4 267 Sr. Zeeland, MI West
5 Jestin Jacobs LB 6-4 236 So. Englewood, OH Northmont
8 Matt Hankins CB 6-0 185 Sr. Lewisville, TX Marcus
4 Dane Belton DB 6-1 205 Jr. Tampa, FL Jesuit
33 Riley Moss CB 6-1 194 Sr. Ankeny, IA Centennial

Offense:

65 Tyler Linderbaum OL 6-3 290 Jr. Solon, IA Solon
84 Sam LaPorta TE 6-4 249 Jr. Highland, IL Highland
15 Tyler Goodson RB 5-10 199 Jr. Suwanee, GA North Gwinnett
6 Keagan Johnson WR 6-1 197 Fr. Bellevue, NE Bellevue West
3 Tyrone Tracy, Jr. WR 5-11 201 Jr. Camby, IN Decatur Central
10 Arland Bruce IV WR 5-10 193 Fr. Olathe, KS Ankeny
64 Kyler Schott OL 6-2 294 Sr. Coggon, IA North Linn

Returner:

16 Charlie Jones WR 5-11 188 Sr. Deerfield, IL Deerfield

The punter (Tory Taylor) and kicker (Caleb Shudak) have both been rock solid as well ... hard to make a list actually. All guys listed have a chance for some kind of all-big ten team or freshman team.

Not sexy, but Linderbaum at C is dominant. I've never seen anything like him in the college game. Jack Campbell at LB is a dude.

And neither of those low life’s have anything at all to do with the current teams, players or game this weekend. Some good zingers though SMH.
Yeah, agreed. And Iowa's cultural problems are in the rearview mirror, as well. Your boy in the post above started the pissing match. He deserved to be checked up.

Good luck Saturday. Should be a great game.

Assuming you're asking in good faith, I'll answer. A former Penn State coach raped some kids.
Oh… so you meant FORMER coach misconduct. As you pointed out, Sandusky was an ex-coach when a graduate assistant witnessed him in the shower with a teen (who is on the record saying no abuse occurred that night). Paterno quickly passed it up the chain and the incident was sent outside the university to Sandusky’s boss (a mandated reporter) at the charity responsible for the him and the teen. The AG praised Joe’s handling of the situation, and the NCAA guidelines on how a coach should handle such a situation were revised to mirror Paterno’s actions.

Do you not want university coaches appropriately handling potential abuse? 🤔 Or are you confusing PSU with those schools in Ohio and Michigan where actual students were actually abused by actual university employees and the schools actually covered it up?

I think everything's been said above. Enjoy the game this weekend.

You forgot to mention that Penn State fired the coach in charge the time that the abuse was revealed.

I'd say Jack Campbell is kind of a standout for them - he's a 6'5 linebacker and kind of disruptive. But he flew under the radar in high school, with teams thinking he was too tall.

Goodson has outstanding moves and Iowa always has a TE that PSU tries to help become an All-American.

Looking at the size of those linebackers, I would expect PSU to go no huddle a fair amount.

It is Iowa...

1. They will have 3 or 4 future NFL OL.
2. They will have a bunch of skill players that nobody else wanted.
3. They will have a DE that could change the game by himself.
4. They will have a bad a$$ LB that will give us fits.
5. They will have a kicker that could break our hearts.

With all that being said PSU wins 38-10.

Except he probably didn't.

However, even if everything that was alleged to have happen happened, it had nothing to do with the football program. No players were harmed. Unlike in the Iowa situation.

Here is the other traditional LB that plays (starts - other guys get more buzz but Seth is solid):

44 Seth Benson LB 6-0 229 Jr. Sioux Falls, SD Washington

lf it is a run heavy power team, they use all 3 LBs (Benson, Campbell and Jacobs), but against spread teams, they have Dane Belton in the game as the 5th DB (call it CASH position - hybrid LB/Safety/Corner). You will see a mix of this IMO but mostly have Belton on the field with Jacobs subbing in at times (Benson and Campbell are the starters).
