The PRC
Zain - 4-0 (3 falls and 1 NF) The definition of shear dominance.

Nolf - 3-0 (2 falls and 1 dec) Non-stop aggression

Cenzo - 3-1 (1 fall, 2 dec) Joining the pin parade, avenging hiss loss to I. Jordan and helping his seed at NCAAs.

Hall - 2-1 (1 fall, 1 dec) So close to BoJo.

Nickal - 3-1 (1 fall, 2 dec) Off weekend for Nickal but it wouldn't be right to omit him from the list

Cutch - 3-1 (3 1pt decisions) Grinding out to 3rd place and avenging an earlier loss to Studebaker

Nevills - 4-1 (3 falls, 1 decision) A lot of bonus from the big guy. Please NCAA, give him the 3 seed.

tOSU - Have to give them props. They took advantage of PSU's and Iowa's injury situations and won the matches they needed to win. However, Ryan's shenanigans with his son's matches were lame.

Mullet Power - Brooks, last man standing in the 184 meat grinder class.

Meh - the El Jefe/Mike Evans option - I am not impressed

I'll give a slight edge to Cenzo over Cutch.

Cenzo has shown great improvement during the course of the season and has closed the gap with the heavy hitters.

Really liked the gutsy performance by Cutch. He has received considerable grief by certain posters on this board but showed he has the ability to AA at nationals. Couldn't have happened to a nicer guy!

I went with Joseph, thought he gave IMar a really tough time and he controlled Zeke very well.

I wanted Zain/Sorensen, just to see if CHA was a fluke or if it's indicative of their future encounters. Maybe Sorensen will be on Zain's side of the bracket.

Relative to expectations going in, I was most impressed with VinJo. Might have been the 2nd best wrestler @65....a pretty dominating performance for 3rd after a very game effort against I-Mar.

Always impressed with Zain, Jason, and Bo...it's really not as easy as they make it look. NN, with 3 falls, was impressive too. Cenzo, Hall and Cutch were my surprises, even if just a little.

Cenzo is really good. I'm not talking tv good, but in-person good, where his talent is imo more noticeable.
Hall too. While I picked him to win in 2 contests I entered, it was more hope and wishful thinking...but he's right there.
Cutch is a 3-2 kind-of-guy, but gets it done. Showed me something against Studebaker.

Our fans. We filled 2 sections plus, and it looked like we out-fanned the home team. Loud and proud on Sunday, after a marginal performance Saturday night.

It had to be Z-Pain, heard he wrestled with a 104 degree fever and a severe sore throat.

I love this poll. I never know how to answer with a tick mark. It's almost like who is impressing me differently than before. How is Nolf NOT impressive. He continues to perform moves...that....have no name. I hate to say it looked like we was going to step over and Tea Bag yesterday but of course that didn't happen, but he pinned the guy anyway.

This is why the two BEST finals matches would have to be Dean Nickal, because Bo really is the only guy who may be able to beat Dean. And a Palacio Nolf match up would have Johnson and Gibbons stammering to describe what THOSE two guys would be doing on the mat. I would fully expect Palacio to take injury time for a selfie with the scoreboard if he landed a TD. I have no idea what he's doing on the mat half the time either.

I digress.

Zain, Nickal, Nevils...all impressive. But Cenzo NEEDED to win to get the right seeding at Nationals and avoid Imar in the semis. He did it. I am impressed. I expected it, but impressed none the less.

Cutch reversed a pin into a win vs Studebaker. Pretty impressive. I'll take the 1 point wins because you know what they are? Wins.

But let me step in with another name. Kollin Moore is impressing me. He gives up points but he can score. He's a big kid and if he doesn't win v Cox this year.....he will be atop the podium before he's done.

I didn't vote as you left off Kollin Moore who was more impressive than everyone of your list except Zpain and Nolf.

I am going to cast my extra vote for 21.guns, for his restraint during this time.

He's at work right now, cleaning toilets.

I'm sure he'll be back in here after 5:30pm to post another 639 times tonight. He probably told his boss he can't work overtime tonight.

Some snark free impressions -- will limit to what we saw that was different (so no Zain or Jason or Bo).

Ok, so this one isn't completely new, but Wrestler 11 drove a wrecking ball into Indy. Of course I'm talking about our annual extra national champ, Bonus Points. Coaches must've poked him with a sharp stick all week long, because he came out even more ornery than usual.

Cenzo took the fight to Martinez and Jordan. Needed 1 win and got it. That guy can reach the NCAA finals.

Mouse keeps making corrections. Fixed the Studebaker issue. Got the opening takedown on Pfarr (though held onto another scramble too long). Probably earned himself a top 6 or 7 seed, which avoids Cox.

(BTW, anyone else think of John Madden when you hear Brett Pfarr?)

Nevills went feet to back or scramble to back for 3 pins. He simply didn't do that before, let alone 3x in one weekend.

Moore stepped up big time. Except for Cox, the field will be adjusting to him.

Ashnault just curb stomped Gasca. Is he ready to earn Rutgers' first ever national title? Would give that program a legitimacy it's never had, that might finally make it an elite recruiting destination for its treasure chest of in-state and neighboring state talent.

Moore's performance makes Cassar's injury woes even more painful. Cassar is also big and very athletic and was the Junior World Teamer at that weight before Moore and I believe qualified more impressively than Moore.

I think it's a strong possibility Cutch gets the 5-spot. Best Studebaker, and Smith may be out, sadly.

Only Cox, Haught, Moore, and Pfarr in front of him, right?

That's all I see. No matter what, his QF will be tough duty.

and Jefe...yes....John Madden. Every time.......

I would give a small shout-out to Snyder...not that he needs it.
Winning 7-3 over Medberry with about 20 seconds on the clock...HE is the one shooting for another takedown.

It's hard not to choose tOSU with the way that they performed... I'm expecting them to be far more disappointed in a couple of weeks, however.

The most impressive weaselry: hands down it's Tan Tom if his 157 strategy results in an an NCAA bid.
I'm not sure what OSU's strategy was with Ryan at 157. The only thing I can figure is that he was hurt, and they didn't want him to aggravate his injury in a sure loss to Murphy first round, hoping he could get 9th in wrestle-backs.

Hall because he got ripped off of a Big Ten Title and we lost the team title over it....Noone outside of PSU wants us to win !!!! That is a FACT !!!! Haters....

Cenzo had the best tournament as far as positioning goes. Legit path to the finals. At the beginning of the year I was all Zeke but it's looking like the newcomers have supplanted him

I voted the same way, and I couldn't say it any better.

Don't think he'll even notice......he's on to a new crusade, "it takes 8 to win"....
