Why not scores from other games scrolling all of the time?
Why, with the new sound system, does it still sound like a poorly wired Foghat concert? I had my ears plugged at the Blue White game.

Minor issues, really. But, with all of the college football fans in the place, run scores a lot more often.

Because all they care about is how many ads/ commercials can they fit on the scoreboards/ ribbon boards. They've been told about the other game scores forever and Sandy said they addressed it last year. It's not a priority to them.

There was a time when I wondered why other scores weren't given. Years ago before video boards the PA guy would announce important scores. Eventually this gave way to sometimes scrolling them on the scoreboard but if you weren't paying attention you'd miss them. Nowadays if I want to check scores I look at my phone so I don't care if they are given inside the stadium or not.

I'm impressed you got the scores on your phone. Last time I was at a game at the Beav there was a greater chance of Frazier and Peetz begging for forgiveness on the 50 than you being able to connect to the Internet. ;)

Getting the scores over the loudspeakers used to be fun, especially when we were a top ten team fighting to get higher. The stadium would erupt when a higher ranked team was upset.

Today...cellular connections bring everything to your hand in seconds. That is until you get 100,000 people trying to connect to one cell tower. An upgrade of technology could help if only we had an extra $60 million or so laying around.

ditch the music other than the Blue Band. Put the diamond pattern back in the endzone. Get rid of names on the jersey. The product-the team-is what I go for not all of the silly side shows

I think they should return to announcing the scores on the PA system. I always loved the reaction when the Pitt, ND, tOSU, Michigan scores were read....

The Grinch who stole the Spirit of Penn State Football.

First time on the "new" board. I am an old dinosaur so bear with me. How do I tell to whom that Grinch refers? It can't be for the post immediately prior - that was just a guy pining for the good old days. Please tell me that I'll figure this thing out.

It was a response to the original post "Who Is in charge of game day stadium atmosphere? Believe me, you are not the only one who can't figure this damn new format out. I have no clue about a lot of this stuff. They should have a video or something to explain it all.

But there is the in-stadium WiFi to use!! Oh wait, that barely works either...

Works great when stands are empty. For some reason when AT&T does these venues they only build for 50% usage. Everyone with Iphones with WIFI turned on walking in kills that.

I believe Nitpicker probably has the answer: ICA expects everyone to be checking scores on their smartphone, so there's little need to post them on the scoreboard, especially when they can get more ad money by running partner branding messages.

So the problem is the quality of Beaver Stadium's WiFi.

The Beaver Stadium game day experience is built around what keeps the students entertained, and that's pretty much constant auditory and visual stimulation. We old fogies can complain, but if the students today don't enjoy game day, they won't be buying season tickets in 10 or 15 years, and Penn State will be really screwed.

I believe PJ Mullen has a lot to do with game day experience. Jim Nachtman and team work the video boards.

Well, it doesn't take a lot to run scores over and over on the ribbon boards. In fact it's very easy. Since the Beav Wifi is horrible then fix one or the other. Either make the WiFi actually usable or run the scores of major games. Doing neither seems to be the PSU administration's choice. Seeing how they've reacted to alumni opinions over the past 4 years it's hardly surprising.
