Why "Social Media" is great....

RBY stated (starting at 11:07 in the video) he wants to win some world medals and he will compete through the 2024 cycle before committing to MMA. He said he will graduate in May and he has not decided if he will compete for another college season. He did make the comment that he has given his four years and "I don't owe anyone anything". My guess is Cael and the other coaches have their work cut out for them to convince RBY to come back for his final year, but I also think RBY hasn't made up his mind yet. A lot can change between now and next season. We shall see.

As weird as it sounds, I’m most excited to see how much Howard has improved this last year. Get beaten up by Gilman and RBY hasn’t killed him yet, so I’m guessing he’s gotten a good bit better.

RBY, CStar, Brooks, Dean, and Kerk are great but I’m hoping the little pit bull is let loose soon. There were flashes last (‘21) season.
I am excited to see a healthy, PSU room developed Robbie Howard have a go.

RBY has said something along the lines of "I don't owe anyone anything" already and he's 100% right. He's won 2 individual titles here, 2 team titles and has given it his all and battled through many injuries. Sounds like he went through a lot this past year injury wise. Bottom line, we have to make it worth his while because he has a lot of other opportunities out there with how well he built his brand over the years.

He left the door open which sounds like he moved the ball to our coaches' court and I like that situation.

My prediction he will be a 2nd semester guy next year and win another ncaa

Gotta say the whole facet of the grad transfer/Covid/NIL intersection that I dislike the most is the half-semester rental of a wrestler for team points hoarding. Those “transfers” are only going to have a limited influence on the team culture/growth if they come in January and leave in March. They won’t be getting anything out of school.

I feel a little better about guys that come in for the full year and get two semesters toward a degree that will help down the road. But I understand that it’s not usually in a program’s best interest to offer enough of their aid to make that happen. Maybe there’s a small segment where the athlete isn’t a sure top-4 where the coaches think they need the development in the fall to see a more reliable return so they decide to do a real year of school.

Just keep your head on a swivel at the start. Otherwise bad things happen.
the flicker "thing" you are using here....its has other clickable pictures within it. You posted them in other spots and unfortunately nothing "bad" was left in it. Just wondering if that is by design or something you werent aware of.

Thanks for the heads up, but I only use flicker for my BWI profession!

Haha. Lake MacBride has about 20% more surface area than Sayer’s Dam in BESP.
Do I know you I love like ten miles from blanchard damn lol. And I guess there must be bodies of beautiful water somewhere in Iowa I just don't want to picture that right now. Lmfao.

Probably he knows where he's going.

Or at least he's narrowed it down to a few schools whose coaches he already knows, and doesn't want the other 70 schools pestering him. Don't call me, I'll call you.

EDIT: a 3rd possibility -- he intends to return to Stanford for grad school. Stanford grad admissions being what they are, he's in the portal just in case.

I get that we're top dogs and the target--but it flummoxes me that so many assume PSU is the destination of every stud that enters the portal. With Greg and Max, we've had exactly 2 guys transfer in that has achieved great results for us, or am I forgetting someone? It's also pretty well documented in those cases that money had nothing to do with the transfer. Also: Keener, Cortez, Campbell--who else?

Meanwhile, UM and Rutger both got an NC guy, Ohio State had Joey. Iowa had Lugo, Eirerman and Desanto, I'm sure there are others.....

Lawson was an AA, and Morelli might have been if Hall had shirted all year.

But point taken.
