Why "Social Media" is great....

OMG...another year of Will Lewan?

Avg per match, Andy?
I know - one of the most misleading stats there are re: the tournament where teams that have droves of guys sent to the consis early always have a lot more matches. Not only that, we led in pins and no points before the pin are captured.

Hamilton’s probably throwing that out to calm the nerves of math challenged fans from his home state.

Per Wrestlestat, I’ve got it 6.7 per match for us (6 matches ending in pins not counting) and 5.91 for Iowa (matches ending in pins for or against 😉 not counting).

268 pts in 40 countable matches for us
266 pts in 45 for Iowa.

So about 12% more points per match for us but we got several more positive outcomes (I.e. pins by us) erased

Not a bad showing for StallBY, Stalllett, Stallrocci and crew

Here it is normalized against regulation match durations:
SchoolSum of Match PtsSum of TimePts/7 Min
PSU
294
307.23
6.70
Iowa
274
350.42
5.47

PSU had 6 pins and 3 OT matches. Iowa had 5 pins, 2 TFs, and 4 OT matches.

Match-by-match scoresheets are available on the brackets in Trackwrestling (click on the match number). That enabled match duration (OT) and scores at match stoppage (pins/defaults).

Note, I awarded NF4 for each pin. While those points aren't officially awarded, omitting those short-changes what match points are earned. Without that, the stats become PSU = 6.15, Iowa = 5.07

LOL, non-insult insults. As if anyone's college affiliations from however many years ago are relevant here.

All it does is remind me of when Stuart Scott tried to dunk on Jay Bilas about UNC winning some game, and Bilas told him to grow up.

Yours are pal and you know it.

There's always so much to complain about w/ wrestling, but it seems like by choosing all 10, this is Yianni's to runaway with, when I'd argue the 6 undefeateds should really be the contenders. I voiced it already, but I really dislike how they seem to change the "real criteria" every year to suit someone's idea on who should win. Frankly, I'd be happier with a totally opaque selection process than this semi-transparent, but not really at all kind of setup.

I disagree that Yianni is going up win, I think Parris takes it followed by Carter.

But I've complained about WIN Magazine being stewards of the Hodge before, and changing criteria is a good reason why.

That said, I think including all ten weight class winners is actually a good idea, even if they're perhaps doing it here to find a way to help Yianni. But by including all ten classes they're exercising less discretion than when they winnow down the list in advance.
