I don't have to know the blocking scheme to recognize missed blocks. I couldn't sleep so I was re-watching quite a few games. I concentrated on the Oline and saw our Guards (Gonzo and Mahon) get beat way too much. I know people don't like the negative opinions, but it's the truth. I know Gonzo played better at the end of the year, and hopefully he could carry it over. He just looked to slow out there whiffing bad. I know the Oline will be better with Menet replacing Mahon. Bates, McGovern, and Fries are all solid. But we must have better guard play.

I looked up some stats and for two years now Barkley was next to last in getting stuffed behind the line. Yeah defenses loaded up to stop Barkley, but they still missed routine blocks. A typical game for Barkley would be breaking off like two big runs, than avg. 2 yards a carry on the other runs. PSU was 59th in rushing O. Not good with Trace and the best RB in the game.

Ricky Rahne said one of the key things he is going to do is make sure get this Oline physical. But I don't think it's a lack of playing physical they just miss.

We are an experienced Oline now, hopefully in 2018 it all falls into place.
