Warren had 7 catches for around 45 yards. Not spectacular. Did Wisconsin do anything new or unique to defend him that USC could not? I know having Pribula in changed the dynamic somewhat. For this week I'm wondering if OSU could do what Wisky did and really limit him since they have superior athletes.

Wisconsin came into the game with excellent pass defense stats. Perhaps what they did to defend Warren opened up space for the wide receivers because they mostly were open all night. It's up to the coaches to call plays that will work based on what the defense gives you, because they can't defend everything.

If it is Pribula I just think Warren becomes even more important because I don't think Beau will have great chemistry with the WRs. We don't have a star WR that could make Pribula look good (big separation, wins 50 50 balls, makes incredibly difficult catches in tight windows).

AK will need to devise a great game plan for Pribula because our offense will be limited with vertical passing. OSU will start crowding the line of scrimmage to take away Pribula's runs and they will watch Singleton leaking out of the backfield. They will dare Pribula to throw downfield. Warren, in my mind, is our X factor.

My guess is that Allar will get the green light and play with Pribula making his customary appearances when the situation dictates. No way Allar is sitting this one out.

Agree. Big boy football. Everyone is hurt in the Big Ten right now. They have as many injuries as we have. If your team is dependent on one man, I have bad news for you, you aren't winning big games.

Franklin has been here ten fu#$ing years and it took him all ten of them to build a roster deep enough to beat Ohio State.

It's time....

Wisky played a lot of man on Warren directly. Depending on our formation, he had corners, nickels, safeties on him. 7 for 45 ain't bad, but this opened up our WRs quite a bit. If Fleming doesn't drop a sure 1st and goal reception, I doubt anybody pays much attention to this.

AKs ability to stack plays is really strong. Take Singleton's TD reception then the Dinkins TD catch. The first play worked so well, both Wisky defenders bit hard on outside man while Dinkins cruised across the end zone with his man 7+ yards away.

All the while, Warren was coming open after his block. He just didn't get off it as quickly as Dinkins was open.

It took a damn good throw though. Not everyone makes that throw. Pribula made some great window throws, but some of that cannot happen this week. As Franklin said, must play CLEAN. A scramble for a first down, or a check down and then punt the football, is the clear path this time.

On the other hand, sometimes when you don't play scared, you make some plays. I think that too often we treat OSU players as Gods when they often are fallible if you force them to make plays. Not every OSU player is a future NFL player.
