This is a wishlist. I know not all of these can or will happen, so dont take it literal.

#1 Back to the Scuffle
#2 Iowa AND tO$U at the BJC
#3 OOC at Navy
#4 OOC at Bucknell ;)
#5 reinstate the NLO
#6 NO reno
#7 Lehigh match is first match of year

Undetermined due to not enough info at present time....back to the Natty Duals.

If no NLO, then head down to the Keystone Open again.

I assume Michigan will be on the schedule - that will be a very competive dual.
133, 165 & 285 will be absolute barnburners, among others.

If Micic wrestles like he did the last 2 months or so I don't envision that match being all too close

What we know...
Rutgers & Maryland, and Michigan & Michigan State will be B1G away matches.
Iowa & Minnesota, and Indiana & Purdue, as well as Ohio State, will be B1G HOME matches.
Lehigh will surely be away...and another sellout.

Not sure what the B1G rotation is going to look like for next year...there's been talk (that I certainly couldn't agree more with) of going to two divisions and a conference championship dual.

It will be a much better schedule than this year. Coming from NY makes it tough to justify for a Northwestern or Rutgers. This year has a few good ones, plus a bonus in the Lehigh match close by. Lehigh was a good atmosphere last year, except parking was a nightmare (plan to get there early if you go).

To add to my post above...the Coaches love the Scuffle, but it really is dependent on the B1G Schedule, which we won't see until late August or September. The coaches will have the conference schedule well before then.

No conference bouts on January 5-7, and they'll probably go, 1 bout that weekend, and they'll consider going (especially if it's home), 2 bouts that weekend and it'll be another year without the Scuffle.

The team only filled 14 competition dates this year, while they're allowed 16. Guessing the coaches will shoot for 16 in 2017-18, and a Reno/weather event (not going), while always possible, hopefully doesn't happen.

Sooooo...we have 9 Conference Duals, a dual with Lehigh, and 2 Tournaments probable. That leaves up to 4 dates to schedule, though creative scheduling could get a 5th if 2 duals are on consecutive days. Guessing Binghamton may have been a one-off, so maybe Army here (?), the Stanford away/home obligation is done...and that's all we know.

Fresno starts up this fall. Would be totally like Cael to go out there to help them kick-start their program.
Yeah that makes sense, but as a single trip not so much to me. Would need another stop that weekend dont you think to make it worth while.

he does like to help out programs. and he has assisted with fundraising for Fresno's program, if I recall correctly. I think it's premature for PSU to wrestle them. While it would bring out PSU fans, it would be an absolute slaughter. I'd give them some time before paying them a visit.

yeah, if you're going to fly out there for a match, it would make sense to combine it with one of the other two D1 teams in CA

I wonder who really wants to put us on their schedule for 2018/2019? On one hand, you are scheduling yourself a very tough dual, likely a loss, especially on your trip to Happy Valley. What is the benefit to your program. On the other hand, your home date could set attendance records, add $$ to your school coffers, and grow interest locally.

No one faces a dual schedule like a B1G team (any B1G team). But what incentive is there for the top non-B1G teams to schedule us? Cornell would be awesome out of the EIWA. Missouri and Oklahoma would be ood out of the Big 12. Hell, Iowa State would be big. But then it falls off quickly to the teams that just want the exposure, like ODU or SIU, etc. Why would those teams take a loss just to wrestle us when they don't have to.

We'd be lucky to get a Stanford for a series again. Or any of the above teams. I guess we'll wait and see. Until then, I will just have to be comforted by the thought of seeing the Lions when they visit Maryland this year for the annual beat down!

Understood, but when in the next few years won't it be a slaughter? It'll probably happen this year or next, to give Nick Nevills a hometown match.

And, yes, likely with some other team that weekend.

The opposing coaches in the squash matches have said it was good for their kids to see for themselves where the bar is set.

Thinking longer term: now that PSU recruits nationally, we should anticipate hometown matches for those guys at some point in their careers -- so Arizona State for RBY and Oregon State for Wittlake. Someday.

And Pitt for Teasdale ... (sorry, couldn't resist!)

Rumor here in Binghamton is that PSU is coming for a match here in 2017 and that the schedule will be released in May.

I would love to see another west coast swing for promotional, support, and recruiting purposes.

Have a quad meet in Fresno with Stanford, CSUB, and Fresno.

Also, I'm expecting an Oklahoma event at some point, to pay tribute to Bo (Stillwater not too far from Allen TX). Maybe make a swing out ASU for RBY?

This becomes the problem, when we get the best recruits across the country. So many Tribute miles.

The Fresno trip may be 2 years down the road, and link that up with ASU. Heading out o ASU is always a great trip, especially in winter.

The Dual Championships continue as well, correct? We'll have the home court for that, right, unless they go HOME-AWAY-AWAY-HOME. They could simplify it with PSU versus all other team All Star. It might be close. :)

Cornell. Would love WVU.......they don't appear to be turning the corner as quickly as I thought. Love the Tobacco Road idea too.

I thought it was cool that they wrestled Army last year. Maybe they should rotate between all of the service academies. What about Virginia or Va Tech? We have a lot of alumni in Virginia...

Just had a home & home with VT.

I love the Tabacco Road idea of NCSt & UNC (or Duke) on a Friday and Sunday some weekend.

Too bad Arizona & Oregon are so far apart because a weekend at both Oregon St & Arizona St would be phenomenal. Lots of flying that weekend.

That would be fine with me...may even make it to Binghamton if it happens...I know how last-minute it was to schedule this past year.

Penn State vs Arizona State, at Jobbing.com in Glendale. Everybody gets a match, and a chance to take in the sun in Phoenix.

ummm... anyone would put PSU on their home schedule for an attendance record (however the results may hurt future business)
- I will go to UMD for the match
- I will try and take in one PSU home match - hoping the Nitt Open is back as well
- I would like them to put UVa on the sched because it is convenient and they have a few Pa wrestlers..

Cornell would be happy to schedule us.

I live 30 minutes from the Events center, so I sure hope you have good info!
meet potential info from contact within Binghamton Bearcat AD. Of course always subject to change. I'm working on our local PSU Alumni Association Chapter making arrangements to host a social (open to all PSU fans) in concert with meet. We expect Bing to hold the meet in the Event Center w/ 5,100 capacity (most wrestling matches are in the East Gym) and are hopeful in our booking the Tau Bearcat Club Room in the Center for the social. Send me a PM if interested in details as they progress. Hopeful this happens.

I don't think I can PM on here, but you could always email me joshuaburns83@ymail.com.

I would sure hope they put that dual in the events center. It would be wasted on East gym.

I know this topic has already been discussed, but I'll put my vote in for a trip to ISU.
