Worst trade in NBA history was just made

No way. Luka has been a mess this year. Overweight and hurt. LJ is seeing the sunset. If it’s to happen it better be next yr. Dallas must be fed up with Luka otherwise why? AD is an injury machine too!

Yeah the Mavs traded the younger better injury prone player for absolutely no reason. Doesn't make sense at all. If I'm a Mavs plan I'm rooting for the Spurs or Rockets...and never looking back

The worst trade in NBA history occurred in the 1980s. It derailed the Sixers franchise for decades.

BINGO. The Moses Malone trade was easily the worst trade ever.

I stopped following the Load Bearing Association years ago. The tail wags the dog in that crapfest.

This trade is worse. Luka is 25, 2nd best player in the league but will be the best soon. Got AD for him who is garbage plus a ‘29 first round pick. Sad honestly.

On it's face, this trade makes absolutely no sense for the Mavs. Even if Doncic made it clear he wasn't going to resign with the Mavs, is AD and a 29 first the best they could do? I guess they're clearing cap space for the 26 class, which looks pretty good so far, and going to tank this year for a chance at Cooper Flagg. Still, they couldn't get a 2025 first?

Moses for Robinson and Ruland wasn't great but not this bad. Ruland was a stud before injuries got the best of him and Robinson was also very good.

The Hinson deal is mind blowing

The trade does not make this lakers team better. It gives them a star after LeBron is gone but no way they win now with Luka. Davis gave them a better chance this year.
It makes the Lakers better long term. They weren't winning a title this year anyway.
Make may actually be able to male a run this year but you can't trade a superstar 25 year old without getting multiple firsts

The deal that turned out to be Hinson for Brad Daugherty? Unbelievable how many bad trades Sixers have made over the years. And how many misses they've made at the top of the draft. Remember Larry Hughes over Paul Pierce? Zhaire Smith over Mykal Bridges? I throw up every time I think of Evan Turner, Jahlil Okafor, Markelle Fulz, Ben Simmons, et al.

People are missing that Luka is fat and out of shape half of the time. That takes a toll on
a player as he gets older (see Embiid, Joel) and leads to more injuries. Doncic can’t take his conditioning seriously at age 25. Imagine how much harder it will be to stay in shape at 30. I can see what the Lakers are thinking. Maybe Lebron’s insane commitment to conditioning will wear off on Luka. If so, it’s a phenomenal trade for them. I can see what the Mavs are thinking too. You are getting one of the top 2 centers in the league for a guy who is chronically hurt because of a lack of commitment to your franchise. Why not? If it doesn’t work you need to rebuild anyway, because Doncic was not going to resign.

I wouldn't say "fat" but his conditioning isn't great. He's still 25 and an elite player even with poor conditioning.
There's no indication that Doncic wasn't going to resign--but they still could have gotten more. If Davis wasn't injury prone I'd see the argument.

This actually makes the Lakers worse on the defensive end without any real inside defender now. I’m sure their next move will be to get a low end big to toss in the middle. I think this is a move for the Lakers long term (which is why there was immediate talk of LeBron possibly wanting out before Feb 7. He’s since come out and said he’ll stick around). They have zero shot at a championship. LeBron is done in a year or two and they would be left with nothing because of all the deals he forced them into. They will resign and build around Luka going forward.

Bigger question is what the F were the Mavs thinking?? They could have gotten 7-8 first round draft picks for Luka if they really wanted to move on. Not an old injury prone center and one pick. They look like fools.

Which is has more pre-arrangement and a script to follow? The WWE or NBA?

Answer: NBA

I don’t watch it anymore. And it’s a bad product.
Agree haven't watched NBA in several years, boring product. You want excitement, watch PSU men's wrestling, 7 intense minutes (or less) every bout, WVB also offers intense excitement, will take both over NBA any time.

Mavs probably already sold out their boxes for the next 5 years and the new owners want to start with a clean slate.
That and the NBA probably greased their palms with some commitment of a future All Star game or something along those lines.

This...hell they could have traded him to the Spurs for all the firsts lol

Mark Cuban has tended to have a very big mouth on any number of subjects. I'm curious what his defense for this trade will be.

They didn't want to give Luka the richest contract in the history of the sport. That's about all he has other than the "defense wins titles" that they're currently using.

Moses for Robinson wasn’t bad? What planet do you live on. Ryland’s knee was shot and bone on bone when Sixers acquired him. Confirmed by an orthopedic surgeon I know. At least both the Lakers and Mavs each got something in this trade. The Sixers didn’t get Jack in the two trades they made that day.

How many games did Davis miss last year and this year oh “wise one”?
