Would James Franklin make a good athletic director some day?

He has excellent interpersonal and organizational skills. That position would entail a sizeable pay cut, of course, but carries with it a certain prestige. I'm sure he isn't yet fulfilled as a HC, something everyone here agrees on. ;) One wonders how he would handle rumors of coaches being courted by other schools? I know he would have a handy list of replacements in his back pocket.

Why would he waste his time? He can make 8,9 10 million per year coaching. When he's done, he can sail away to the Bahamas or any location he so chooses and laugh at you and me and every peon who gave him instructions on how he should coach.

Or maybe he could drive down the road and enjoy beers with you every Friday night at Southern Columbia!!!!

I have no idea why you think he has excellent organizational skills.

His best talent is recruiting. As an AD, his best talent is going to be utilized far less than it is today. I did not say zero, just a lot less important.

Would he be better than Sandy Barbour? Of course, who wouldn't be better than Sandy Barbour, midwit?

But would he actually be good at it? I'm skeptical.
