Said Big 12 should not go to the playoffs until they get a championship game. Said its totally wrong for them to be sitting at home today when teams like Bama, Michigan State, Iowa, Clemson could have their playoffs hopes ending losing in a title game.

Totally agree

If you want to go there. Does that mean teams that lose their playoff game or do not make the championship game should also NOT be eligible? It does not make much sense to have a team go to the playoff if the lose their championship game or do not even make the championship game.

Mark May could tell me that the sun goes down at night and comes up in the morning and he would still be wrong.

If Mark May said it, it's wrong. Period.

Yes if ur aren't ur conference champ you can't be national champ!!

That's fine, as long as only conference champs get to participate. Either nd joins, or gets left behind. Let me know when espn gets on board.

Did he say Notre Dame should be banned from the playoffs until they join a conference (with a title game)?

They B12 have a league champion that was won on the field. They do not need a championship game. They play round robin. Other leagues should only have 10 members maximum and then play round robin. Championship game is $$$$ only.

I think Oklahoma deserves to be there more than Stanford does...two losses, you're gone. So that leaves four conferences and take the champion of each assuming Bama wins.

on the other hand, playing and winning a CC game enhances the teams ranking, while the team that doesn't play sits at home, out of sight of the committee

Really? So how would that explain excluding a 12-1 UNC who would be the ACC Champion via an ACC Championship Game win and would have just defeated the BCS Selection Committee's #1 Rank Team, Clemson??? Yet all the brilliant BCS Committee organizers of this "Invitational Tournament" never mention UNC as a team that should be included when they discuss the possibility of Clemson losing - go figure??? The only framework that makes sense within is that the major network analysts and talking-heads are nothing but shills for the ever self-serving BCS Committee.

Man.. you guys have all kinds of rules for who to keep out.. No two loss team, no team that doesn't have a conference championship or doesn't make their conference championship game. So if Florida wins, you'll only have two eligible teams.. UNC/Clemson winner and Michigan State/Iowa winner. It sounds like you guys don't really want a playoff. There's 12-15 really good teams right now.. I'd like to see them all play each other to see who's best. Sounds like they've crowned Bama.. again.. we'll see how that goes when they play another really good team if they can get by Florida

Please tell me why the phock they need a conference championship game ? OU already beat Okie St and Baylor... Who the hell would you propose they face?

IMHO - any conference championship game that constitutes a rematch need not / should not be played... Alas the $$$$ trumps common sense
