I was watching the Cal Poly dual and their coach claims that they have the youngest roster in the NCAA this year and I think Penn State is slightly younger in terms of "years."

Cal Poly wrestled 2 true freshman, 2 r-FR, 3 r-SO, 3 jrs. (1 true, 2 redshirts). That is 26 years of college wrestling including this season for all.

Penn State assuming Howard & Bartlett would be 2 true freshman, 4 r-FR, 1 true sophomore, 2 juniors (1 true, 1 rs), and 1 true senior for a total of 23 years of college experience.

Obviously this doesn't include gray-shirts as seasons and guys who came early but can anybody think of a younger starting lineup in the NCAA?

As always, Cael is playing 4D chess. His ability to see how things would play out years down the line is something else.

You got a plan?

In fairness, Cal Poly's coach did say "roster" and not "starting lineup."

Had Cornell been wrestling this year, they'd have likely had (extra years AFAIK: note that ORS are not enrolled)

125: So. (greyshirt, ORS) Vito
133: Jr (maybe greyshirt) LaJoie
141: Jr (ORS) Yianni
149: Fr (greyshirt) Saunders
157: Fr (injury year) Yapoujian
165: Fr (greyshirt) Ramirez
174: Fr (greyshirt) Foca
184: Jr (greyshirt, ORS) Dean
197: Jr (greyshirt, injury year) Darmstadt (doubtful greyshirt Fr Cardenas can beat him)
285: Fr (greyshirt) Fernandes

So, 19 years of college. Of those above, I don't think any of them are actually enrolled this year. That means they'll have essentially the same lineup, except with the possibility of Vito moving to 133 (still a sophomore), and Greg Diakomihalis at 125 (greyshirt freshman). That'd be 17 years of college. Theoretically, of course.

Announcer also said Adam Jacob East Pennsboro was a 2 time state champ and he was 4th and 6th.Could be a situation where they're talking overall roster.I haven't looked to see if that the case but was my initial thought.
