Your nominations for Urban’s successor

Richie Kotite is the man for the job!!!!

If I were at tOSU I would not want a top assistant, a well-respected guy who has not won big, or an alum who "could" bring back the glory. tOSU is at the top tier and they have no reason to settle for anything less.

Here are my three "replacement" targets.

David Shaw, Stanford - Would be tough to get away from the Cardinal, but he is a winner. Give him the national recruiting base at tOSU and they could plug in 11 win seasons for the next 15 years.

Mark Richt, Miami - By all accounts a good guy. He lacks the trophies that a young Urban had collected, but he would be an immediate force that would produce wins.

Chris Petersen, Washington - Squeaky clean, Urban without baggage, and a winner everywhere he has been while working with *** talent at best. If they could get him away from the West Coast they would not lose a step.

Richt left Georgia and look how much better they have become in such a short time. I would never hire Richt if I wanted to win MNC. Good guy, yes. Winner, don't think so.

Kirby Smart's first year produced two more losses than the previous three years under Richt. Last year was outstanding, but let's see how he does before he gets crowned the savior in Athens.

Richt would not be my top choice, but tOSU should not settle for less than him. A Campbell, Brohm, or some hot-shot assistant should not be in their future.

Urbs is getting canned. Big time.

Advantage to canning Meyer is that it may distract from Jordan and the wrestling doctor. Harder for OSU to throw a sitting Congressman under the bus.

No there's way OSU would be happy with Moorhead. They're are going to shoot for the stars first
I loved Mooreheads offense, but I don't think he has the personality to compete at BIG Time level. He's a nice guy and all, but in listenign to him at the bowl game he just doesn't seem to have that energy and excitement most of the top coaches bring to the table. CJF is the absolute best at this and it shows in a BIG way on TV.

I’m not sure Petersen is all that squeaky clean.

When OSU hired Tressel they showed they were willing to take hirering risks. Tressel was a great coach from a 1AA powerhouse, but not what the fans or media expected.

0% chance. Herman was on the staff in 2015 when this whole episode with the coaches/wifes happened. Everybody from that time will be gone/never welcomed back.

Tom Herman was hired at Houston in Dec of 2014 so he wasnt on the staff in 2015. Those he was born in Ohio but was raised in California, most of coaching career as been in Texas area
