Which wrestler will (not "should") represent Penn State at the Big Ten Tourney?

Let's just vote and move on with our lives. ;)

Who knows...it's still 17 weeks from the start of Big Ten's...a lot can happen between now and then!

You provide more than most all here Roar. But, ever consider a career in politics?
Speculation is one of the main drivers of this board. It's just not Roar's thing.

I like it!

174 will be manned by Shak or Geno while we have the best insurance plan In the country with Hall.

197 will have depth where we're young and unproven (Stout) and kind of injury prone (Cutch & Cassar).

197 will start with Mouse if he wins in the room. Cael will put the best lineup on the mat. This is another example of the "Penn State Wrestling Philosophy": The individual sacrifices for the team, the team sacrifices for the individual, while at the same time, having fun in the sport, AND doing the best for every individual.

It's more than just talent, it's more than just coaching, it's the whole being greater than the sum of the parts

Most agree that depth-wise, 197 is relatively weak.

Also, per Intermat, 8 of the preseason Top 10 at 197 are all seniors.

Whoever claims this spot for PSU can have some success over multiple seasons.

So where would everyone rank Cutch right now at 197?

My guess is that he'd start the season anywhere from 9 to 12, with a real shot, if healthy, to finish much higher.

What do others think?

For reference, below is the Flo top 20 at 197. I feel pretty good about his chances of reaching the podium if he's the guy and he's healthy. Just fingers crossed for no more back issues wrestling undersized a weight up.

Update: Rotert just lost 8-6 to 2017 NCAA OW PD3, so he's criminally underrated at #9, should be #1 ahead of Cox.

1 SR J'Den Cox Missouri
2 SR Brett Pfarr Minnesota

Let's not get carried away with ourselves. You essentially just described a situation where the guys who win their wrestle-offs at given weights will be the guys who take the mat at said weights. That "philosophy" is not unique to Penn State Wrestling -- it is the norm throughout the sport, at almost all levels.

Prediction: the PD3/PD2 jokes will write themselves.

I know, way to go out on a limb ...
Two things I've noticed/hope for;
PD2 can't help himself, and his posts will continue...not worth commenting on, as my thoughts are they speak volumes themselves and are undeserving of any fan reaction.
Next, I really do hope for no shenanigans from PD3. Seems his life is in order, despite his situation ;).

OK, is there someone posting on here that I have on ignore called PD2 and or PD3. I am so confused.

No, on the contrary...just my opinion, but posters on here are extremely respectful as compared to elsewhere.

Referring to Pat Downey's father [PD2] on the ISU board. He's, uh, rarely at a loss for words.
