The event has already started and is being broadcast live on Flo. (Does anybody know if matches are being recorded or if Flo only has the rights to the live broadcast?)

Molinaro lost his second match to 4 time Yarygin champ Bekbultov of Russia
NLWC athlete Riley LeFever lost his first match to Euro U23 silver medalist Mtsituri of Georgia

James Green took another loss, this time to Zakuev from Russia.

Colon, Dieringer, and Macchiavello are all into the Semis which start at 10AM eastern.

Others wrestling tomorrow or later include Gilman, Burroughs, Snyder, and Gwiazdowski

The semis just happened. Only Dieringer won. Machievello lost a close one he was leading, and Joe Colon got absolutely jobbed. He had two 4-point gut wrenches wiped out and his opponent given 4 both times instead. First time the opponent was given 4 off his challenge, second time Colon challenged. Embarrassing.

Are these matches being recorded by Flo or just streamed? I'd like to watch some replays since I'm either sleeping or at work while it's going on live.

Why or why does the UWW have to be so shady? I know why--it just stinks.

Related: some good domestic competition for JO

Oliver sure didn’t have any trouble with him:

Lots of good action already today. JB showed Chamizo who’s goat 9-2 (shoulda been 11-2).

Tank and Green advance to Bronze matches.

Gilman lost, Lefever almost made Bronze match, I think Josh Rodriguez is still alive top side.

Edit: no, our j-rod lost late

Oliver vs Henderson 8-1 after 1 now in quarters.

Ends 12-1. JO definitely looked like he was slowing down in the second though. Weight cut might be a real issue.

Just saw on Twitter that Green's bronze opponent won't be able to wrestle due to an injury.

JB wins quarter by injury default.

If you have flo--here's the Chamizo bout:
https://www.flowrestling.org/video/6374833-74kg-jordan-burroughs-usa-vs-frank-chamizo-italy

Hard to believe Chamizo stood up like that in front of JB. There's confidence, and there's suicide by brain fart. Nice to see that double is still money though.
That's just how Chamizo wrestles--he dares you to get in on his leg and then he scrambles for the score. He rarely shoots; he changes levels and tries to create enough chaos to where a scramble results, and he usually wins scrambles. Burroughs was on his game today so that game plan didn't work, but it's pretty much his only game plan.

I get that, and I usually love to watch Chamizo work his magic with single legs--it's like a hybrid of Nolf and Cenzo. But if you stand up square against a guy like JB--well, it's hard to get funky when you're flying backwards . . .

That all said, I thought JB's first finish was impressive, because it wasn't a quick finish, but he played it smart, and got it done.

@tikk10 any idea why he didn’t get the exposure 2 after the last TD?

I wondered same at the time. My grasp of the rule is that the offensive wrestler has to be fully responsible for the exposure. Burroughs was given 2 for the TD and then Chamizo looked like he was at least partly responsible for shuffling back defensively, then leaning on his elbows. It wasn't feet to back for Burroughs and it wasn't that Burroughs did much on his own to expose Chamizo.

I don't know the FS rulebook inside out, though, so I'm basing my opinion on having seen similar non-calls.

JO pours it on with 8 pts in the 2nd period this time wins 9-1. Terrible feed. On to Finals.

Dang, Tank drops an all out war w/ a Russian. Very entertaining bout. I think it wound up being a fall when frank went for a big 5 and stuck himself. was 13-10 at the time.

Colon dropped his 3rd place match too.

Did I miss that Frank became Amish? He looks like an Amish wrestler with that haircut. I want to see him wrestle with suspenders. That would certainly complete the Amish theme.

Did he also have his tattoo’s removed, marry his sister, swear off electricity, have half his brain removed, and ride his horse-and-buggy to the tourney?

... Tank smile at you and turn the other cheek.
He really don't care, in fact he wish you well.
'Cause he'll be laughing his head off when you’re burning in hell.
...
He don't fight, he all play nice.
Living in an Amish paradise.

:)

Tank is a cosplayer! He’s now done “Fifth Element” and “Dumb and Dumber”. I can’t wait to see his next ‘do!

Just to clarify, Lloyds ‘do’ is not a “Amish” (bowl-cut) haircut.
Moe Howards is.
I cant tell from the match video which style Frank is sportin but dear god, its hideous nonetheless.

Edit, maybe he ran into a hateful ref????

Jebidiah Butcheritov?

Snyder into the finals, has the Ukrainian Varner beat for Olympic Gold. Gwiz and Heflin lost in the Quarters.

Sarah Hildebrandt’s Semi up soon I think. She’s awesome.

that's cool.. the kid Jordon beat was wearing a PSU wrestling sweatshirt on the medal stand... not convinced it was Penn State but don't know....

Bekzod Abdurakhmonov (Uzebekistan) is at NLWC, so almost certainly a PSU sweatshirt-- this thread below from 11/29 covers the background info...Cool story on his really interesting background linked in here too:

https://bwi.forums.rivals.com/threads/bekzod-abdurakhmonov-to-nlwc.226509/

Bekzod is very tough- Burroughs held on 4-3 this match. Match not yet on Flo.

Oliver dropped his final match to Bajrang (India) 12-3. While Oliver looked great at the outset with his offense, he ultimately couldn't handle Bajrang's relentless pressure, which took him entirely out of his game. Bajrang was last year's silver medalist, dropping his finals match 16-9 to Takuto Otoguro (JPN), who was 19 at the time of competition.

Oliver's finals is here:
