I am kind of happy for him - even though every time he speaks I dislike him a little more. Just something about his bravado that bothers me.
You think that air guitar demonstration of Hall didn't give Valencia some added incentive?
I remember when I criticized that guitar celebration by Hall a lot of you jumped me. Remember that @smalls103? You shouldn't give an elite competitor any more incentive to beat you. Valencia just loved shoving that guitar celebration back at Hall's face.
What are you talking about? I'm just saying that neither of them were very aggressive. And that justifies Fix not wrestling to win? By you defending it, I see it’s a cultural issue. Keep that going please!
Also, anyone have all the walkout musics? I was shocked that ESPN cut them all
I was bummed by that too. They missed a big production opportunity but anything for more commercials I guess.
I know that we are all the victims of unreasonable heightened expectations with this team, but does anyone else think Bo knew there was no way Moore was beating him and wrestled him way more conservatively to almost preserve Moore’s dignity. I just sensed he could’ve ripped him apart whenever he chose, but never chose to flip that switch. It also showed in his post match comments. He seemed much more composed and calm and his comments seemed less adrenaline fueled than normal. Almost like he just returned from the grocery store, rather than winning a natty.
looked like he tweeked his right knee, i'll have to rewatchJason came out super strong.
But he seemed to freeze up in the second period. Wasn't sure why.
Why ever be bitter. Wrestling is really hard. I enjoy the hard work and effort they all put out.
I like to think he was showing respect to Moore.
Koll's comments really came off as idiotic, and also rather rude.. Not that I need any more reasons to respect CS, but if his wrestler is in a final, you'll find him in the corner, and not being interviewed during the match. And whenever he does talk about other wrestlers or other teams, either before or after matches, he's very respectful of them. Koll said that Foster was very athletic, but only for the 1st half of matches. He indicated that Dean's conditioning would be a big factor, and probably the difference late in the match. So who gets taken down in the 3rd period? Dean. And which coach ends up looking like a fool? Koll
It’s fun to ponder that Cassar might have been national champ last year, if given the chance.
> Pyles:
> Penn State's Jesse Whitmer. From the bench to National Champ. Unbelievable.

I think for the most part the days of the 284.5 pound heavyweights leaning on eachother are over. Even the 250 pound heavies are athletic now.Cassar and McCoy, PSU's 2 heavy weight champions have much in common. Not your typical heavy weights. Both undersized, they favor athleticism, technical skill and dedication to their craft. Great wrestlers in a weight class that too often pits 2 Manatees on the mat.
No it is called match awareness. Moore is not going anywhere with that cradle locked up, hold him there the last 20 seconds and win the match. Sometimes you can lose a cradle and put yourself in a bad spot. Bonus points were not needed, get the win and the big trophy.I thought the same thing. Bo seemed to be in a prime position to turn him for the late major.
That was Bo's growth, all 3 matches he lost in his career were the result of trying to force something. After the B1G loss to Martin as a Sophomore, he wrestled more with a take what was there approach. If guys wrestled him, they usually got destroyed. If not, he took the 3 to 6 point win like last night.Bo respects Moore, but saying he wrestled The NCAA Finals to try to preserve the dignity of his opponent is a bit much. If he could have got a pin without exposing himself to danger he would have 100% gone for it. My guess is that he planned to wrestle smart, build a lead, and get out of Pittsburgh as a 3X National Champion. Mission accomplished. It can be argued that taking too many risks in his match against Martin RS FR Year is why Bo is a 3X Champ instead of a 4 timer.
Perhaps, but that is very un Bo-like. When do you ever remember him wrestling like that? And that was not how he wrestled the rest of the tournament. I just don’t think he was wrestling that way because he was afraid of taking too many risks. That’s not Bo. I think it may have been something else. And while you can argue that taking risks may have cost him against Martin as a RS FR, it may have been what got him the championship last year. So I don’t necessarily buy that.Bo respects Moore, but saying he wrestled The NCAA Finals to try to preserve the dignity of his opponent is a bit much. I'm fine with Lewis getting O.W., he deserved it.
My vote would go to Mrs. Diakomahalis.
Could have been a bit of respect for Moore, or awareness of the risk/reward metrics, but I think likely it was just some big time perspective crashing down on him that his time in the blue and white was coming to an end. Probably a bit of each, really.Perhaps, but that is very un Bo-like. When do you ever remember him wrestling like that? And that was not how he wrestled the rest of the tournament. should have just paid WFL direct! No faith in ole Spyker any moreAnd your OW and Hodge winner, Bo "Noodle Arms" Nickal!!!!
(I paid Spyker royalties for the use of "!!!!". He should have $ to pay his WFL debt now. @CowboyUp61 )
He’s wrestled controlled in some duals - Abounader for one. I think Moore still had an arm holding him back a bit. If it was a dual, I think he goes all out and horses him over, but I think he was playing it safe because his point was made. I don’t think he cares about Moore’s feelings one bit.Perhaps, but that is very un Bo-like. When do you ever remember him wrestling like that? Regarding the head gear throw—it was probably Ant’s stiffest competition on the year. He just didn’t want to leave any doubt who da real champ is.
