To me, this is the year that could have been. Could have been if everything went 100% the right way. I never believed we could take Iowa this year. That said, it's Saturday morning, we have more in the finals than Iowa, and we're still talking about what Iowa needs to win. Cannot wait for this evening. Been a great year considering all our youth and guys just coming back to wrestling.

Cassar could not get out from bottom the whole match against a kid from Penn
^This^ I know our standard is national titles, but I’m just plum tickled with how the good guys in blue competed, also the fact that this tourney even happened. 2nd place with 4 finalists and 6 AA is WAY better than last year.
Gotta say that OkSt looks to be favored to pull out 2nd. RBY probably needs to beat Fix for PSU to take it.
Absolutely. We have a ton to look forward to. Also. We don't have idiotic posters making posts regarding stalling and roids. That's so embarrassing. If someone did that sh&t, they should be banned for life. It's one thing to call out stalling, it happens, but to make a post in order to degrade a wrestler, is way over the top. Iowa is going to win a Natty, and that's the sh%t on that board. This is clearly the best wrestling board out there. The people here have been absolutely amazing. I'm not joking about that. This board and its posters are phenomenal.
It likely will come down to the finals tonight for 2nd/3rd and we'll need an RBY upset. You can pencil in Ferrari as a win probably with how that kid is wrestling.

According to some joker named Willie, 50% of quarterfinalist DNP’d. This years backside was a meat grinder.
Not to mention the highway robbery of a win they got with Lewallan over Heil with the free 7 seconds....
As I noted last night, I have something else to attend at 1 pm today. At the rate they are going through the placement matches, there's a good chance that I won't be able to do PBP for either Beard or Kerk's match. Just a heads up.

Ok State benefitted a ton from good breaks this tournament for sure. Double medical forfeit in blood rounds. Marinelli was going to be on Wittlake's side of wrestlebacks also. The 7 second fiasco. But they can probably flip it and say a few things like Kaid Brock isn't wrestling and Dustin Plott is severely injured right now, etc.

And of your 6 AA’s, 4 are freshman and you still nearly won..... looks like another big run.
I know one HC who told me two years ago that 2021 was the best time to catch PSU and after that, forget it.
just remember, Frank Molinaro finished his first year with a just over .500 record and an AA in the 7th place match. Pretty sure he got better.

Desanto was an animal all weekend. Would have loved to see if he had anything for RBY this time. Would have at least been fun to watch.

If Gable leaves, I expect PSU have finalists at 133, 141, 174, 184 and HWT next year. I expect top 3-5 level production from Beard and SVN (if he's the 149), young Robbie Howard to AA, and Berge to AA.
You do great work here, Tom. Always appreciated. I mean, it’s not PBP by period and your coverage of wrestlers from towns 30 minutes away SC are lacking, but I can forgive that. Did I hit all the beats? Oh, yeah and mat for Carton/Pletcher?

That would have made 4 AA's at 125 for the Big Ten which would've surprised me more.
