2022 Recruiting Class Thread

Kid is a beast.

This is definitely the kind of recruitment we need to win. Sure, Alabama, Georgia, and Ohio State are involved. But PSU has been in on him the longest by far. Plus, Alabama and Georgia are fighting for Enai White, Alabama and Ohio State fighting for Omari Abor, Georgia and Ohio State fighting for Shemar Stewart, Alabama leads for Jeremiah Alexander, Ohio State leads for Kenyatta Jackson, etc. All that to say, while those teams would sure like to have DDS, PSU has prioritized him the way the others haven't. From an area we have done well in.

We lead anyway, but definitely need to close the deal here.

It's a little unreal to see the talent that Mark Duda is pulling and developing at Lackawanna. Wonder if he could ever be viewed as a possible addition to the staff at Penn State U.
Perhaps he could be viewed in such a way, but on the other hand (...and this is a compliment to him) he may be more valuable to the success of PSU recruiting where he is at Lackawanna College than if he was actually on the PSU staff...very ironic lol

According to 24/7, this kid had a real good rising senior camp at PSU. Decent size, good speed, and strong. He must be pretty damn smart with the number of service academy/Ivy League offers that he has.

He should worry about himself and PSU -in that order.
It was never about Ewers, it was about Marchiol. Adults who can’t follow along assumes it was Ewers because Ohio State-Penn State, but it had more to do with the Marchiol Duffy situation and the kids (general active top 300 recruits) feelings on it. Talley should focus on whatever he wants as long as it helps him and PSU.

Also had to do with Talley either making up or proliferating rumors about specific OSU recruits in the past. He was the one who made up the "Caleb Burton is flipping to Oregon" rumor, and then a rumor about CJ Hicks de-committing, I believe. That sparked a war of words between some of the OSU recruits and Talley, and when a Texas insider put out an article questioning how solid Ewers was to OSU -- ironically in the article, the author admits that Ewers is probably pretty darn solid to OSU -- the rumors flew again.

If folks want to talk about de-commits.......UGA has now lost two 5* kids in the past few days. And both appear to be leaning to Texas A&M. Jimbo building a contender there that will be able to push Alabama.

Talley is a little overzealous but he is doing a great job peer recruiting. Just watch.

Feels like we need to close the deal with Dennis-Sutton this weekend. A lot of chatter that Georgia has made up some serious ground in his recruitment after his visit there last weekend.
Georgia has a lot freed up to entice new recruits with all the 5 stars that ATM is outbidding them for now. How many have they lost now?

They lost Bear Alexander a few days ago -- 5* DT. And they lost a 5* ATH as well. Both likely headed to Texas A&M.

Speaking of Maryland DL recruits......what's the word with Derrick Moore? I believe he's visiting OU shortly, and is pushing to visit OSU, but not sure if OSU is interested. 247 lists OU, OSU, and PSU as the favorites, though no telling how up to date. 247 lists him as the #48 prospect in the nation.

The good news with the UGAs and Alabamas and OSUs is that they all appear to be fighting over the same handful of elite DL recruits, so dominoes are bound to fall. UGA is really hard after Enai White, for instance, although they may be selling him as an OLB type.

He probably received the full court NIL press from the coaches @ UGA last weekend. This is what we are up against. The fact is, he will definitely play as a Freshman @ PSU. Hopefully he is influenced by the PSU family atmosphere. That atmosphere is touted a lot by those who are solidly committed to PSU. Perhaps that can hold sway over the UGA glitz.

Dennis-Sutton and Singleton on campus this weekend - probably our top defensive/offensive targets respectively. I think the perception is that we lead for both, with some other programs surging as of late (D-S/Georgia, Singleton/Wisky). Huge recruiting weekend for the staff, which could really hurtle this class from good to great.

Nicholas Singleton a top priority for Penn State commits

who else read “commits” as a verb rather than a noun?
maybe it will be a verb this weekend
I read it as a noun, but all you have to do is put a comma after "Singleton" and another comma after "State"...

It reminds me of a brief Lionel Hutz skit from the Simpsons: ;)

I was hoping for good news this weekend, which still may come.

But the bad news is that OT commit Drew Shelton is reportedly taking OV's to SEC schools .....

So he is not 107%. Not surprising as didn't say he was considering other visits. Take it Franklin won't pull his spot.
