2022 Recruiting Class Thread

Anyone watch Pribula live or on tape yet? Interested in any opinions.

Noting that I am not an expert on QB evaluations - after watching highlights/film, I think it's fun to make comparisons. Maybe a little Adrian Martinez in his game?

i have and your comparison i think is pretty good...also has some McSorley in him for sure..honestly its tough to give an informed opinion on a player just watching his sophomore highlights, especially for a QB...what i see is a good overall athlete, that just makes things happen on both sides of the ball and someone u just want to get into your program...that said i'm not sure he will end up as a QB in college...his release is kinda funky and arm strength seems to be at best average...these can continue to get better obviously with time but i don't see him as a good fit in Ciarrocca's offense (if he keeps to more of his Minnesota style of play calling) but would be good in say Rahne's offense where the QB is running like 10-15 times a game...he might play D in college honestly as he has some nice highlights on that side of the ball...heck he could be a 6-2 230 pound linebacker kinda like Charlie Katshir

York Dispatch reports QB to commit to PSU 8/3 @ 2:00 PM

The following story from the York Dispatch contains some good news on a likely commitment a few days from now.

https://www.yorkdispatch.com/story/...a-announce-ncaa-commitment-monday/5526875002/

After looking at his tape it is quite apparent he is a talent. Good arm, some speed, and tough. Excellent athlete. Gotta luv a QB who has a nasty stiff arm. The tape shows he even plays some defense at safety. It was nice to see that though he can run, when a play breaks down and he scrambles he is still looking down the field for an eligible receiver. Syracuse, Nebraska, West Virginia and Rutgers all offered.

All due respect, I'd like to see Clemson, Ohio State, Alabama and Michigan as offers.

You mean like Caleb Williams or Kyle McCord? How'd that work out for us?

(though Veilleux had a Clemson offer)

Not sure why Michigan is included in that group, but as for those others + Oklahoma and maybe Georgia......we're going to lose more of those battles than we win. Until we're in the CFP, that is. Can a guy like Pribula take us there? Well, a guy who was even less heralded as a prep (McSorley) damn near did it.

He's also pretty close with Ivey and Flowers it seems, so I'm all for it.

I would not be critical. The kid has only played one year at QB and Rivals has him as the #10 all purpose QB in the 2022 class. With two years left to play I am sure many other schools will begin to pay attention.

I am as critical as anyone about Coach Franklin and his staff, but I do not question their ability to spot talent. Remember Justin Fields? I am not comparing the York kid to him, that would not be fair, but I would give him a chance to make a name for himself and validate the coaching staffs opinion.

One thing about Pribula: Gerry Yonchiuk is going to be coaching Central York this year, which means that they're going to throw the ball all over the field. Yonchiuk was one of the first guys running air raid concepts in the area when he was at Lebanon, and his quarterbacks would always put up big numbers. It's going to be a big change from the run-heavy offense Pribula ran last year.

If CJF is going after 2 TE's in the 2022 class, maybe he doesn't take one in the 2021 class after not getting a top target so far..... Even with Freiermuth moving on after this Fall the TE room has plenty of young talent to skip 2021....

Sounds like Flowers is ready to pull the trigger. Has he set any dates yet?
I’d like to think he’s getting close, but he’s been teasing several fan bases with similar tweets. Maybe his tweet has something to do with Pribula’s expected commitment tomorrow?

Yeah, he's been hinting at this for awhile now.

No dates that I'm aware of. Ivey is the one who has a date coming up. But I imagine it's only a matter of time.

Don’t get hooked on his social media posts. I wouldn’t put much stock into them.

That is not a comment on him as a kid and has nothing to do with where PSU stands with him.

Philly 4* DE. PSU has been the perceived leader for a bit, also has older CBs from Dohn and Wilfong. If he’s deciding in a month, it feels like it will be for the good guys.

Reading into this prospect a bit more - doesn’t seem like he’s dead set on becoming a DE, as a lot of staffs recruiting him could see him playing OLB as well. Just thought it was worth noting.

Position flexibility for sure. His growth and who else we get will play a factor.
