SVN is now beating some good wrestlers (Parco, Henson). Plus Paniro Johnson previously, even though Johnson didn't have a good tournament. Don't wanna hear any crap about his draw.

I expected Beau to be at 3rd place bout but not win. I expected SVN to be in 7th place bout. Job well done by both. Whoo hoo
I did pick Bartlett to be runner up and Shane 4th.
Amazing to see good seasons by BB and SVN become great in front of our eyes. The growth in confidence these past few days was noticeable.
Exactly. Parco, Henson and Paniro are great wins. Wasn’t an easy path to 3rd.
SVN in his first NCAA tournament finishes better than both Nick Lee and Zain Retherford did in theirs. The future is indeed bright!
I feel like SVN’s defense tightened up these last three matches.

What a treat to watch SVN overcome an 8-0 deficit in his opener all the way to a third place finish. From that point on he wrestled loose and fearlessly. And Beau Bartlett just wrestled tough and smart all tournament for his 3rd place finish. Great tournament for the both of them.
I'm telling you getting ragdolled early by Miller may be the defining point of his career. He learned something about himself and who he should be as a wrestler. He's gonna be a 3xer.
Crickets on those that want Bartlett at 133.
Shayne’s confidence has to be sky high. I look for him to advance many levels.

His defense (except that one) was brutal. It is kind of obvious he simply needed to believe.
Going to miss Michael McGee a ton. One of the most underrated guys in the country, Was lights out all weekend. He's got nasty stuff.
After beating Shane, Gomez told Roman that that kid is gonna give people trouble. I guess Gomez knew what he was talking about.
That might be stretching it. By the end of the year, after beating defending champ Sasso 3 times.
I think I agree, but I forgot about Sasso and Gomez being back (potentially). I think those 3 are an impressive triumvirate.

I think he is. He and Cardinale were the last remaining ODU Monarchs still fighting. Great to see both of them finish on the podium. Can you believe they used to compete for the spot?
Lovett unshirts and Gomez returns next year, but those are the top 4 in whichever order. Wouldn't bet against Van Ness.

I've said this on the football board, but wrestlers often have the trait that propels more to high levels of success than just about any subset of a high school. I can count from my HS wrestling team at least 4 millionaires under 50 years of age. None of these 4 came from money. Also, a 5th became a Navy Seal and now owns a business, so perhaps he is a 5th but not sure on that.
Only 2 of the 4 millionaires were in the AP classes and there wasn't a similar success rate that I'm aware of from our AP classes, so simply being smart wasn't the trait. One of them went to the Vo Tech and took over his dad's little kitchen counters and cabinets business and built it up pretty big before selling it off. Another worked construction pounding nails and whatever, then went back to college and got his degree, and now manages all kind of big construction sites.
But the key thing all 5 of these guys shared was no quit and all grit. All 5 were the varsity starter at their weight class but were not all were our top wrestlers. But one thing was certain, they weren't going to quit and they were going to exhaust their efforts to find a way to get it done. I suspect this carried over to all of their life successes to some degree.
Oh god totally forgot about ridge. That's an amazing weight. Potentially Chittum for the hawks too as a wildcard.
So much upside to him. He has tons of raw talent. Can't wait to see what Cael does with it
Everyone forgets about Lovett. Man him vs SVN would be an exciting match
I would be SHOCKED if Fix were back and Vito I think would have to transfer because the Ivies don’t have grad student athletes
