Pretty evenly matched, but the problem was that Beau had absolutely zero offense. Beau deserved to lose that match - I don't think he made a single real offensive attack. Showed great defensive skills, but a bit pathetic that he didn't make a single real offensive attack - not sure what he's thinking, but you shouldn't be looking to win a match 1-0 or on TB Riding-Time Adv. You have to score to win and Beau seemed utterly oblivious to that.
Therefore, one would assume that Mike Evans was not impressed either.
Yeah, that was some sequence and great chain wrestling by Mendez. Was actually very well defended by Bartlett, except for the last double leg.
I believe it can be called as fleeing the mat in HS. Not sure about college. I think it’s largely at the officials discretion overall
I don't know how much that loss will really hurt Beau in seedings. He's probably still looking at a 2 or 3 seed, and Mendez will be on the other side.

Wrestle close? He did nothing but play defense - that ain't going to cut it at B1Gs or Nationals. I mean he showed zero offense in Neutral.

The Gomez Lovett match was fun stuff. Incredible that Lovett was able to fend that last shot off, Gomez had both legs. And even more incredible Lovett didn't get scored on after losing that upper body fight.
Geez, thought maybe Kasak and Miller went outside the cylinder just before the mat return and pin.
I'm not good with that kind of wrestling - it's lame. Mendez deserved that win - love Beau, but he did absolutely nothing and probably should have given up multiple stall calls and stalling points.
He's not winning in a couple weeks if he wrestles like that... he needs to be lightyears more aggressive if he wants to win a National Championship.
Kasak just doesn't have any F's to give. He just lets it fly! He is getting better and better every single match. Damn, that was really impressive!

Lovett was very fortunate. I thought Gomez had both legs at the end but he didn’t. That was close.
That 149 final was a fun one, how Lovett got out of those, impressive
