125 SF - Luke Lilledahl VS Matt Ramos (PUR)
Period 1:
Luke presses forward. Luke reaches for a leg, but no luck. Both are on their knees now, then back to their feet. Luke reaches, but can't get to a leg. Ramos comes forward. Luke drops in on a leg. Ramos rolls, but Luke stays with him & finishes the TD, 3-0. Luke has Ramos on his back & adds 4 NF, 7-0. Wow!!! Stalemate & restart. Ramos is still down. Ramos gets the escape, 7-1. Luke presses forward again & shoots, but no luck. Ramos shoots, Luke counters & gets in deep on a leg, but Ramos fights him off. Luke pushes forward again. Luke shoots, but no luck. Luke keeps pressuring Ramos. Luke shoots, but Ramos blocks him off. Time expires. 7-1 Luke after the 1st
Period 2:
Ramos takes down. Ramos gets to his feet, but Luke takes him out of bounds, restart. Luke +43-sec RT. Ramos is still down. He gets to his feet, then turns, but Luke stays with him & goes over 1-min RT. Ramos is trying to come over the top & finally gets the reversal, 7-3. Ramos cuts Luke, 8-3. Luke still has +1:07 RT. Tying up & circling in the center, 30-sec left. More circling & tying up to end the period. 8-3 Luke, +1:07 after the 2nd.
Period 3:
Luke takes neutral. Ramos shoots, Luke counters & gets a leg. He elevates it & trips Ramos to the mat for another TD, 11-3. That's how we do it baby! Lighting Luke is on FIRE!!! Out of bounds & restart. Ramos is still down. Ramos gets to his feet & gets the escape, 11-4, 1:12 left. Luke shoots, but no luck. Luke drives Ramos out of bounds, restart, 59-sec left. Tying up & circling. Ramos shoots, but no luck. Ramos is pushing forward now, 30-sec left. Ramos tries a shot, but no luck. Luke with great positioning & defense! More of the same to end the period. Luke adds a RT point for the 12-4 Major Decision!!! Wow! What a job by Luke!!!

2nd time this tournament I’ve seen Luke let go completely while the guy rolled and end with a TD for it. A new way of defending / attacking the roll thru?
Ramos looks like a god damn 141 next to Luke.

It’s actually how I was taught to defend a granby. Just completely release and follow. You have to time it right but it works extremely well

Every match Ramos has wrestled this season has ended in bonus still.
I kind of thought that’s how that match would go, I just didn’t have the balls to call it publicly.
Luke has trouble on bottom and guys that don’t shoot. I knew he’d have a bunch of counter offense here
Wow, if Lilly can major Ramos, just think how badly he would beat Spencer Lee.
LL wrestled much smarter with the lead - had a clear advantage in Neutral, but didn't take any unnecessary risks.
