...from December 9th-11th:

December 9th: Hofstra, 7:00 PM
December 10th: at Princeton, 1:00 PM
December 11th: at Penn State, 2:00 PM

Is Matt Dernlan preparing his team for March (by weighing in and wrestling three straight days), crazy (for having the third one be against the defending NCAA Champs), or both?

Does Binghamton have anyone that is expected to be weighing in Saturday at NCAAs? No one comes to mind off the top of my head.

Schneider and DePrez are their best bets. Rifanburg, maybe in a year or two. I wouldn't call any of the above favorites to reach the second or third day though.

burnsie, speaking of DePrez, they also have a pretty good wrestler in Louie DePrez (teammate of Yianni D) coming in next year...obviously doesn't help them in St. Louis though.

He's the younger brother of the two DePrez's already on the roster, right?

Yes, and there is a 4th brother that will be a sophomore in high school this year. Louie is really, really good, just a relentless wrestler. Headlining a very good class coming in for Binghamton (not PSU like, but very good for Binghamton). Dernlan (ex-PSU coach) is doing some good things there.

When a new football coach was hired at my son's high school a while back the first thing he did was install cameras on the football field. He told the parents and kids that he wanted to film all of the games so each player had sufficient video to send to D1 college coaches. Nobody on the team at that point was a D1 prospect. Today they are one of the best teams in the state.

My point is that perhaps Dernlan is trying to establish a winning culture and doing three weigh-ins in a row supports this process.
