I know some of you are from the Johnstown area and follow UPJ Wrestling. I read they just had 2 D2 champs transfer into the program from the now eliminated Wheeling Jesuit program. With 3 returning champs, they are probably now the favorites to win it all this year and next. I believe all three champs are juniors.

Maybe Pitt-Johnstown can beat Pitt-Oakland.

They very well might. Pitt wouldn't be the first D1 program they have beat. Nothing like taking a handful of mostly D6 farm boys and turning them into a national powerhouse. Some of their best wrestlers barely made it out of regionals.

They won both of their championships when I was a student there. Those teams are why I love PSU wrestling. I see many of the same qualities. Hard nosed, score points, just flat out relentless. Great men off the mat as well.

Some kids peak a little later, also world class coaching helps.
