It’s a shame that these next 2 weeks could be a huge step for the program but they’ve let some old bum in Johnstown write the narrative for the week with his idiotic letter. Hope they’ve at least spent some time focusing on the Hawkeyes

This whole thing is getting out of hand. I support Franklin standing up for his players but I do not support the players fueling the fire.

Enough already.

Sounds like you two snowflakes are getting triggered by the players exercising their right to fight back against the haters out there who are stuck in the 50’s.

Franklin and Sutherland both handled this...everyone else should let it go. Nothing like over kill.
I think that's a reasonable take. At the same time, it's one god damn t-shirt, and I suspect mostly proffered with good humor. I don't think that hits the threshold for overkill

So, one joking social media post equates to screwing off and forgetting they have a game Saturday?

I'd rather they focus on school and football than on tee shirts. Besides, what haters? One guy expressed his opinion. Why do you turn that into a bunch of haters? I don't recall a single poster who supported calling out a specific player.

Yeah, and so much as I have 0 problem with football players sporting chains tattoos(i have some), and dreads, I wouldn't exactly want that shirt to be the rallying cry or branding of of our team.

I like that T-shirt better than the “Penn _ucking State” shirts that were being sold outside the stadium after the PU game.

Are you for real? Many posters here called out every running back for the lawnboyz chain and have backed the racist letter that was sent to Sutherland.

We proudly wear shirts that say "WE ARE" decades later because we want people to know what we stood for once and continue to stand for today in the face of prejudice and bigotry. I see nothing wrong with making tshirts that continue to show the country what Penn State still stands for. FOR THE GLORY...PENN STATE PROUD!!

WE ARE!!

from now on, any post should have their age attached to it from the very beginning so we know what way the post will go.

For example:

21- Love the Lawnboyz Chain.
65- Geesh, I wish these darn whiper snappers could just stay off the Twittle and stop bringing attention to themselves.
72-Where is the fullback!

46- (see how I did that there) you do realize it takes a whole 3 seconds to share a picture and write a snappy little comment right.....I am sure the team can focus without those 3 seconds.

I don't remember one post in support of the letter sent to Sutherland. There were many posting that the letter did not rise to the level of racism, but no one that I can think of actually supported the letter.

Ya.... only cranky old white dudes with low T and dementia can speak their mind under our new (constitution - Not).... ridiculous!

So, when fascists speak everyone should just be quiet and and not respond?

^^ This. I would also add it takes a hater to know a hater. We'll know Saturday night if this cause celebre distracted the team or not.

We are stands for unity and support for people of all races. I don't think it was ever intended to be more than that.

I did not now this Peterson fella is a fascist. Or is this another charge based on implied bias. You know, since the guy lives in WePA he must be clutching his Bible and gun. Test board, here we come. See you there.

Yeah, if we lose it would not have anything to do with Iowa being a damn good team. It's all because of one social media post.SMH
