Saquon doing Saquon things

Saquon is one of those rare guys who is just as dominant in the NFL as he was in college. And the Eagles need to bring these uniforms back. Both are awesome.

The Eagles OL is really playing well, just starting to hit their potential. If they and Barkley stay healthy, this will be one of the great running back seasons in NFL history. And the cool thing is, he doesn't really care about that, all he wants is to play in a SB.

I love the Eagles chemistry. After both of Barkley's long runs the broadcast showed Hurts with this ear to ear grin, so happy for him. Barkley has made Hurts' job so much easier this year.

And then when Gainwell broke two tackles in the 4Q for a TD, Barkley was off the bench into the endzone bouncing around in Gainwell's face to congratulate him. It might be fake but from what I can see he's a really good teammate..
I think Hurts was grinning because he was amazed at Barkley’s abilities. Kind of like a proud dad watching his son hit another of many home runs.

That dude ain’t sleeping to well….🙂‍↕️
Nothing but gratitude for the Giants execs for letting Barkley go. They never should have drafted him the first place -- it was like acquiring Secretariat and using him to pull a manure wagon. So glad he was able to escape and find a team that can give him the opportunities the Eagles give him.

I’ve been checking Pro Reference for Hall of Fame comps. He’d be in good shape if just 2 more of those Giants seasons reflected his talent. He’d be around 8500 rushing yards instead of about 7000.

Anyway, let’s hope he stays healthy through this contract. He’s salivating being able to run behind Mailata, Dickerson and crew
Numbers shouldn’t matter. See Gale Sayers. You can clearly see that he is one of the best backs of his era. He does things most others cannot do and he has time to do more. Hope he does not get hurt because he is one of the best ever.

Saquon on record watch after a big 2nd half. He’s at 2005 and he’s likely done for the day with 10 min left. Needs 101 for the record against the Gints

Are they really going to play him next week? Can you imagine the backlash in Philadelphia if he gets hurt?

I'd love to see him play next week and grab the record. But for him to get 101, he needs the first team O, or most of it, to be playing, and that is a risk to be playing all those guys. So, hopefully he gets the first half to gauge if he can do it. It is after all the NY football Giants, and a GM that totally disrespected him. It would be poetic justice to see him get the record in this game.

I'm not sure if it has been mentioned in this thread, but the NFL seems to be ignoring the additional game that has been added to the season when discussing the setting of new records.

For those that do not know and to add perspective to his accomplishment, OJ Simpson ran for 2003 yards in only a 14 game season.

And while it definitely does not detract from what Saquan has achieved in his MVP caliber season this year, it should be noted accordingly IMHO.

Eric Dickerson doesn’t know about OJ.

Eric Dickerson doesn’t know about OJ.
I read an article about the previous 2000 yard rushers in the NFL. It stated that all of the previous players who achieved 2000 yards did so in 16 games.

I guess the author and their editor were just as aware as Dickerson.

IIRC, all of Jim Brown's seasonal rushing totals for the Browns in the 1960's were achieved in only 12 games.

lol. Good article and editor.

OJ had the best season of all time. 2003 yards in 14 games and NFL record 143 YPG. Even Jim Brown didn’t pull that one off.

Dickerson has already been vocal about the 17 games….ignoring OJ and ignoring the fact he did not cross 2000 until the 16th game. He had about 1850 after game 14. While we can agree the stats get a bit diluted by extra games, Dickerson is more than a bit disingenuous by whining about it.

Chicken Man pointed out that Saquon’s yards per carry is higher than Dickerson’s anyway.

Barkley has fewer carries than Dickerson. The number of games played is not necessarily the holy statistic to live by here. Saquon has more yards per carry.

I think the Giants would be impacted more if Saquon won the Super Bowl than set the record. It would be an indictment of their whole organization.

Ah. And OJ was 6.0 in that year. ;)

Saquon is an absolute monster.

Sorry, an absolute fast monster.
