I was not the biggest fan of that name but Byers is a legend so I will honor it. With Mark and Cenzo moving on, without an opportunity for a proper sendoff, so too passes one of the most Amazing periods in PSU wrestling history. So many unbelievable memories. It really doesn't seem that long ago one of our hottest topics was should we or shouldn't we pull Marh's shirt
What must other teams have thought having to face a real life murderers row like these 5.
Zain, Nolf, Joseph, Hall, Nickel - On one team? Back to back to back to back? Holly crap!!!!
It was really nice sitting back as a fan knowing with near certainty that all 5 would win. At least for me Zain, Nolf and Bo were 100%ers most of their careers.
Some amazing moments, with many very early in their illustrious careers:
Zain - beats Logan Steiber to send notice to all that pain is coming
Nolf - pins Imar, then thought to be invincible
Joseph's - inside trip pin of Imar for all the marbles
Hall's - freshman victory over Zahid
Bo -of course his elevator pin of Miles to cement his legacy and provide college wrestling with its most dramatic moment ever. I need to list 2. His NC victory over Gabe Dean the destroyer of world's, a feat many though was unlikely.
It is hard to say goodbye to that group, absolutely incredible. There is a pretty long list of kids who if it were not for these 5 guys, they would be 3x and 4x GOAT champs (Zahid, Sorrensen, Imar, Miles, Dean, ...)
I will never forget those teams, but now it is time to move on and look to the future. My money is on Cael giving us some new amazing teams in the future. One with 5 Champs, unlikely, but then again we are talking Cael Sanderson.
