Willie's Crystal Ball for 2025

2 champs would be low IMO.. but anything is possible..
2 would be considered worst case. Assuming 165 and 184. I won't believe that the rest fall short, but understand the call. There are other studs out there. Beau, SVN, Kasak, Haines, Barr, Kerk could all lose in the finals. But I wouldn't bet on it.

Don't forget going into last year, only AB, Carter were thought of as next topic level champions.

A lot of people had Shapiro (at his best) over Levi and Yonger was looking fantastic the entire year.

We have many guys that can absolutely win .... there are other guys of that level in the field as well.

I think if you made over and under at 2 1/2 National Champs the betting play would be about 50/50.

I only consider Mesenbrink a lock for a title.. Cstar is def a fav, and he had the most controlled OT win over Keckeisen.. but I don’t think that’s a lock..

PSU so good they could theoretically have l0 finalist if we looked at each case individually none would be shocking…

I'm thinking Mes, Carter
My next choice might be Barr after the next couple of Matches. He has the motor for though tournament.
Hemati and O'toole are going to be tough at 174. 2-3 seed match is probably Haines and Hemati.
Kerk has a freak at HWT and Hendrekison has improved. Hopefully Kerk wins Big 10.
I'll know more about Van Ness and Kasak in a couple of weeks.
Beau is going to have tough time if he sees Menedez.
Luke and Davis hopefully are on podium. Luke's frame concerns me in tough tournament. I'm afraid he could get against some men and get muscled

Yeah I think if Barr beats Buchanan he’s instantly the fav at 197.. would not be a surprise at all.. his motor is unreal.. most likely next PSU 3x+ if he beats Buchanan.

Great post. As you mentioned, there is some extremely tough competition near the top of many weights this year. This will make for a great NCAA tournament. Friday's dual will help clarify some things, and after the B1G tournament my list may look quite a bit different, but as far as my confidence level in PSU NCAA champions at this moment in time, I would go:

1. Mitchell Top competition: Caliendo and Hall
2. Carter: Keckeisen and Plott
3. Shayne: Lovett, Henson and Parco
4. Levi: O'Toole and Hamiti
5. Josh: Buchanan, Cardenas and Ferrari
6. Tyler: Teemer and Shapiro
7. Beau: Mendez, Alirez and Hardy
8. Greg: Steveson and Hendrickson
9. Luke: Ramos and Figueroa
10. Braeden: Crookham (if healthy), Ayala and Byrd

PSU will win five titles have two runner ups and break the team scoring record back in Philly where it all started in 2011…
That would be the most impressive tournament ever if that is the case. I think this year has the potential of the semifinals being very difficult at most weights.
