Championship contest. The game's ratings were more than 20% lower than last year. It makes sense. With so many Pitt fans in attendance, it only makes sense they weren't watching on TV!
Pitt Football is the gift that keeps on giving.

Wasn't that one on in the same time slot as one of the others? (The B10?)

IIRC, those were the only two that had to share a time slot.
Of course, the matchup between Clemson and Pitt was also far less than must-see TV.... but I can't imagine it wouldn't have at least matched the UW-Utah P12 game, if not for sharing a time slot.
Yes, it was up against the B10 game. I switched back and forth only because I always enjoy watching Pitt get beaten down on national TV.

You have it backwards. The Pitt fans were watching. It was the Clemson fans who were too busy picking up trash along the highway to watch.

My son lives in Charlotte and went to the game. He estimated that 80% of the fans were from Clemson.

Yeah, the ACC has no chance when going up against the Big Ten. Pac XII, SEC & Big XII all have their own time slots of the P5. The ACC should probably play Thursday night or something. Not fair to the kids but they're not going to get viewers against the Big Ten

I'll admit I watched more of the ACC than B10 game. Once I realized it was realistically possible that a P5 school could finish with less than 10 yards of passing in a game, it was fascinating to watch.

Who’d have thunk it.....but both Army & Navy will have more passing yds on Sat afternoon than Pitt’s Heisman candidate!

its such a shame that Pitt could not take all those empty yellow seats from heinz field to charlotte. When Pitt is home those empty yellow seats are counted as fans!

I had zero clue they were even in the championship game until Saturday night. How garbage is that conference? What a joke.

Chris Peak writes that the Sun Bowl is perfect for Pitt because the locals attend and the schools aren't expected to sell tickets. LOL

I went to the game with a couple friends who are Pitt fans. I had a great time despite the rain. My takeaway from the game is that the Clemson women are freaking amazing.
