I have heard that talk and find it interesting. I absolutely believe he needs to be a coordinator before becoming a HC which seems to be his desire as at UVA. I don't think it's going to be at PS either. I think everyone I had in my poll is off the table especially Golden. Things could change there but I don't see that happening. I think the situation may become clearer after today.

I stlll don't believe Golden was ever in play.
I don't think he wants that pressure
I don't think Franklin wants that situation
I don't think he's an upgrade over Allen

He is good enough to be a DC in the NFL but not at PSU. Yeah right. I know, a few people would want him to be HC if we lose a game or two. Yeah right.
It looks like we will end up with Poindexter. Very risky in my opinion.
Hopefully Franklin will pull someone out of his hat who has some experience as DC.
It would be a shame if our offense shines next year (as I think it will) and our defense doesn’t hold up.
Again, it's not that he's not a good DC--he's not a good fit for us or with Franklin.
Franklin is a tenured coach that doesn't need someone like Golden (or Allen)
We all saw how poor Golden was prepared for Ohio State--Allen did a much better job against them
Golden is a great fit for Zac Taylor. Taylor's still very young (just 41) and an offensive mind that has worked with Golden in the past. There's a comfort level and a trust level.
Plus, more than anything, Golden doesn't have to recruit in the NFL. He would not have liked working with Franklin and his demands--which isn't a knock on Franklin.
Did it ever occur to you that when you have to make so many posts in a given thread that you have no point(s) to make. But of course that won’t stop you.
