How did some of your values and rules evolve?

“My father-in-law said something to me years ago, and he was so right. The way you dress is an indication of your attitude. So that’s why all the teams are boom, boom, dress right. Penn State type, black, plain. Just straight up, here we come. Everybody’s the same. You’re just dressed plain, straight up. Everybody wore black shoes, not any white shoes. That’s one of the things I gave into this year. They’ve got white shoes. I thought (conformity in dressing) was very important. You can see all the way along, 12 (years old), all the way up through, all these things (ideas) popping. Just yeah, right.​

Great article... interesting part about his decision to retire based on his perceived inability to connect with today’s “mommied” kids... kinda sad

Great article, my boys high school team runs a lax drill called West Genny basically a 3 on 2 fastbreak, against a goalie the attackers and defenders run the length of the field.

The drill designed by this legendary coach.

For many years, starting for West Genny meant automatic D1 scholarship to Syracuse, PSU, Cornell, Albany, etc......
