Any of our guys going to the Edinboro Open?

Bump...anyone around the room hear anything about unattached entries? I can't find any info at all on-line about any entrants. It would certainly give me something to do Saturday.

The one who is going to need to get an open in most likely is Rasheed if he wants to qualify a spot for the conference tournament. I know he could steal from somebody else and get to nationals but the way he has wrestled I really wouldn't trust him to do that. He beat Pagano (18 in CR) but that was his only match of the weekend and so he was at "full" strength and not worn down after potentially 5-6 bouts by the time you get to placing matches.

I would think he would get a coaches rank after 5 matches but there is no way I would think he is getting to 15 duals for the RPI rating without going to two opens plus a couple duals. That leaves him to get above a 70% winning percentage and at least 8 bouts for a second criteria.

He is 2-2 right now and has the following duals remaining. If he wins out, he is 8-2 and his slot is secure. If he losses just to Moore and beats Warner that leaves him at 70% and if the allocation moves up to 27 CR, 27 RPI, 71% he would not qualify a spot.

1/31 vs. #13 Warner, Jacob (Iowa)
2/2 vs. #52 Smith, Jaron (Maryland)
2/7 vs. #96 Christensen, Peter (Wisconsin)
2/9 vs. #33 Ritter, Hunter (Minnesota)
2/15 vs. #1 Moore, Kollin (Ohio State)
2/23 vs. #149 Jarrell, William (American)

If he losses to Warner and Moore there is no way he qualifies a slot for the conference without an open.

There is Edinboro on Saturday and Mat Town II on the 23rd. If Shak goes to Edinboro he misses the Iowa match. If he goes to Mat Town he misses American and Senior Day. I bet no opens for Shak and he takes his chances.

What if he loses to Warner, ducks Moore, and wins the rest of the matches? 7-2 is a 78% win pct, but would his RPI/rank be high enough?

I he lost to Warner and skipped Moore his record would only be 6-3 (66.6%) and that would not hit the minimum if my math is correct. If he beat Warner and ducked Moore that would work in theory assuming the others are wins.

Jacob Oliver will be another good measuring stick for Starocci. Returning NQ, 19-4 this year.

No reason to believe Starocci will lose, rather another chance to see how he looks against a solid opponent.
Berreyesa Cornell should be there. Not sure if Oliver is wrestling or not.

Probably a better test. JR Greco world team member.
Spadafora Maryland also registered he's #24 on Flo
Edit: It's Jonathan his brother it's not the ranked Spadafora . Spadafora has Hall Sunday

Really, that's the best you can do? How do you know he registered? Is there a publicly available list of registrants?
Was a reason for it.Not so easy to explain.Go to Track click OPC then go to NCAA then click on teams go to Edinboro then click on schedule click Edinboro open then click pages then click wrestlers.Berreyesa wrestled 174 recently so I would imagine 174.Weights aren't listed

How the heck did you find that?!? I'm impressed, and thanks for pointing to it.

Starocci most likely will see Berreyesa in semi's and Foca in finals.
