Hoffman slips by Michigan State's backup HWT 5-3 SV on a takedown with 5 sec left in SV.Gavin Hoffman is all the way up to Heavy? Wow. No wonder he was having trouble at 184.
Loses his quarter 1-3 to Lehigh's Lacombe.
Except the scorers were a period ahead--into the 3rd we go....
Loses 2-5 instead--but didn't seem to gas.
Hopefully Carter takes him out. He was one of the most annoying Cornellians during the whole Zain-Yianni kerfluffle (and there were a lot of them talking on twitter)
It makes sense for him to get a sense of what it will take in the weight class--but he's definitely small.Hoffman slips by Michigan State's backup HWT 5-3 SV on a takedown with 5 sec left in SV.
Barraclough has looked good today--good in scrambles, tough on top, savvy work on bottom, good gas tank. Kolodzik is a different kind of opponent though, obviously.
Chris Foca from Cornell. Former NJ State Champ from Bergen Catholic.Who does Carter have in the finals? And when will they wrestle?
I guess we can learn something about PA vs.Chris Foca from Cornell. Former NJ State Champ from Bergen Catholic.

Think he's got a lot of work to do. Defense is good but lets people in too deep - can't rely on a defensive scramble every time. Glad to see him out working!Just caught the last minute Bussielo lost 4-1... seemed to have a cradle? but could't captialize.... then he was on top and his opponent was blatantly stalling but ultimately didn't matter.
Beat Edmund Ruth in the quarters 10-7Chris Foca from Cornell. Former NJ State Champ from Bergen Catholic.
Is he someone who can start. He is impressive. Pretty sure he went to the Sanderson wreslting club in UtahSpent a little time chatting with Terrell today. He is a very impressive kid...on and off the mat.
Starocci up on 1
End of 1 2-1
End of 2 5-1
Final 6-1 3:13 RT
Chickenman gets his wish.
...is there a stated time for finals?...
And PA continues the dominance.I guess we can learn something about PA vs.
NJ wrestling.
Bearclaw lost 10-0 to Kolodzik. Looked good on top, but not nearly enough. Still, that's a true freshman against a 3x AA.looks like barraclough is on deck mat 2. Starocci can’t be far behind
We all knew. He’s just being a jerk. Most of us knew exactly what you meant.
Was just thinking the same -- very few guys returning next year who I'd favor over him right now: Kemerer, Amine, Labriola. I guess maybe Romero could get him on a bad day.Man, Carter is ready now and is going to be such a force next year.
Reasonable people can disagree. I'm only concerned with the people who post here on BWI. I believe the vast majority of the posters on this site understand the rules and they also understand the English language is full of nuance (e.g., "sent" can have different meanings). As for the many non-poster/readers you cite, I've never considered them. Why would I? I'm here to talk sports with like-minded individuals, not have one-way conversations.I doubt that based on the numerous posts on this board about sending PSU wrestlers to various Opens, Scuffle, etc. I think a large percentage of the people that read this board do not know that PSU cannot just send whoever they want to whatever tournament is going on. Remember that for every person that posts on this board there are a LOT more people that read this board.
This had me thinking about other weights and who’s returning to match up with your very young 165-HWT lineup. How do you think Lee, Starocci, Brooks, Beard, and Kerkvliet/Nevills fare? Was just thinking the same -- very few guys returning next year who I'd favor over him right now: Kemerer, Amine, Labriola. Barring some huge name bumping up from 165, that's it.
And that doesn't factor in his improvements this offseason.
Impressive. He may prove to be the best of the Joe Lee, Brooks, Beard, Nevills class. Next year’s gonna be fun!Starocci was 26-0 in takedowns and did not allow a single offensive point.
I think Starocci would be a handful at NCAA's this year.Impressive. He may prove to be the best of the Joe Lee, Brooks, Beard, Nevills class. Next year’s gonna be fun!

Probably can scratch Amine, seems like he will be at 184 next season. Qualified for the Olympics at 86kg and it would be a pretty big cut after getting body bigger for the Olympics. Was just thinking the same -- very few guys returning next year who I'd favor over him right now: Kemerer, Amine, Labriola. In terms of NCAA scoring165 - 2-2 or R12
174 - 3rd/4th
184 - 1st
197 - 5th/6th but could go higher/lower depending on draw; needs work on bottom, will get bonus on top
HWT - Kerk 2-4; Nevills 6th-8th and could fluctuate with draw
