Don't really feel strongly either way, but this is the one I like:
Would look good on the side of a helmet.
Not on the side of our helmet.

I think that’s a pretty big number. It’s basically adding a revenue stream on the order of a second men’s basketball program.I don't know a comparison number, but $3.8 million seems kind of low for annual trademark revenue. You can swing a dead cat and hit three people wearing PSU clothing.
Anyone else not really a huge fan of the oval Nittany Lion logo?
what i don't like is why my computer will sometimes not allow me to capitalize letters by using my shift key.
The oddest part of that logic is how the chipmunk logo is pretty clearly and obviously the Nittany Lion Shrine, something that’s obviously unique to Penn State. It barely looks like a conventional mountain lion.In Virginia I have seen numerous high schools that adapted the oval logo to their own mascot and use it. I think people like it in general
I won't loose sleep either I like the logo it works and all of my clothing ,hats et el also have the logo on itim not losing sleep over it and it doesn’t prevent me from buying merchandise that includes the logo, but I really think it is cheesy. I’m not a fan of the previous front facing lion head logo either. I think the logo used on university stationary is distinguished and the cartoon like Nittany Lion mascot logo is fun. I’ll try to post photos of these two, but I typically struggle with this.
Are there any other old school or alternate Penn State logos that you all appreciate, or are you all in on the oval chipmunk logo?
Thank you; I will investigate. Right now I have to hit 'caps lock' key, hit the letter I wish to capitalize, and then take off the 'caps lock'; not a lot of fun.if you are getting lower-case letters with shift, usually that means caps lock is on. just saying.

I love the chipmunk logo, but never in my life have I ever looked at it (and I see it every day) and thought it looks like a chipmunk.
You mean this? I prefer the chipmunk...you'll pry it out of my cold dead hands before you go to something like this...Here is the stationary logo that I like

Funny, but no ralph..the skull & cross bones you hang out on game day for the B1G .We should change it to my sig pic. Add crossbones.
Yep, these are the two I appreciate plus our seal, which i wore proudly on the jacket i purchased at the book store. The "chipmunk" logo has always been my favorite for athletics. As others have said, it is distinctive.
As for the university's main logo, this one is still my favorite:
It's a refurbished emblem of Eastern Michigan...I posted the Eastern Michigan's emblem in the threads many times in the past four months for fun....followed by "Go Penn State", "For the Glory", etc. Not one begged to differe that I didn't post our emblem.Penn State doesnt own this logo so stopped using it officially.
They released a terrible new logo in the late 90s... like 96ish which went away quickly.
Chipmunk is the best.

I agree. I too never saw a "chipmunk". Others call it the "chipmunk logo", so I just go with the flow and do not argue. But I'm 53. Have seen this logo since day #1 of it being used, and have never seen a chipmunk. I see a lion.

I am not a huge fan of the chipmunk. The reason why it is known as the chipmunk is that it looks less fierce than a mountain lion and looks more like a small rodent.
Having said that, I like how it "builds" in commercials. I can't find a gif of it but it is kind of cool.
I like this PSU Lion the best of what I've seen:
That design is way too busy for a helmet. And too much text for anything else.
The oval logo is great. IMO, if PSU wasn't so dead set on only using the 1950's look, the oval would make a fine alt helmet.

I meant the photo of the lion's head....Ugh no.... that was a horrendous design. Way too busy, WTF with 2 different fonts in one logo?
If you need to include text to explain what it is, it is a poor logo.
Hey @Kiber, I see you stopped posting in the Den, did you give up your membership? Just curious because I always enjoyed reading your posts?I agree. I too never saw a "chipmunk".
