Schnupp at 125 wrestled well. Hung in against a solid kid and nearly pulled even near the end.I think C is a little low considering true freshman, first college match against a respectable kid.. I'd go in the B range even with the loss... rest are hard to "argue" with.

Agree on Schnupp. He is a RS Frosh who was wrestling 113 2 years ago in high school so he is still undersized. Plus Chalfoux was 5th at EIWAs last year so no pushover. I liked that Schnupp was still battling in the 3rd and got a TD. If the match was a minute longer his gas tank might have had him winning that match.

Point of view from the cheap seats
125: I like the "C" grade, not enough offense to warrant a higher grade, RS Fr doesn't make a difference to me
133: Nothing better than a headlock to get your PSU career started! Can't wait to see Keener open it up against tougher opponents. A
141: the 8lb jump had me concerned, but Cortez can flat out wrestle ... he's got skills. A
149/157/174/184/285 -- off the grading chart
165: Cenzo had a great performance, used his fundamentals - didn't go for broke and get in bad position. that will help against the hammers in this weight class, A
197: Cassar, long and lanky, Quentin like physical style --- most impressed with his forward/shooting attack! Love CUTCH, but this guy if healthy all season will score much need team points!

I'll be honest, not a big grades guy here.
Given March is the real target, and it’s hard to what know how each match is supposed to fit into the plan, I understand. I guess you can grade a bit on apparent effort and whether a guy repeats old mistakes, but beyond that it gets somewhat meaningless.

Not really my thinking. I'm close enough to see the daily sacrifices, and what these guys do willingly for a couple minutes of success or failure in public. It's just way more than those 7 minutes, that's all.

The grades aren't harmful, though I've seen threads like this end in the gutter on other sites. I'd give each wrestler, based on a personal perspective of what's important, an A+.

NOPE! Didn't you have a first-timer with you?

Oh yes!! She was able to see the Rockefeller Tree being towed on 80 as we were heading to SC. We arrived at Whiskers around 5:30 and it was packed so she and our daughter went to a Noodle place to grab some noodles, they loved that place and I think that would have been enough.

My Uncle could not go, so they sat in his seats N3L row 12. Great seats compared to my top row seats.

My kid has a lot of good pics of Austin wrestling. Wife said," Bo looks like you used to, but you were not nearly as good." They both loved the 285 bout.

Kid's best line. "Daddy you know what stinks? The put Cutch's pic on the ticket and we don't get to see him wrestle. That is like putting LaBron's pic on a ticket and him not playing"

My reply, "Exactly"

My girls loved everything about it and they would go back anytime. Unfortunately, my kid travels the east coast for field hockey on the weekends so we will not be able to make it to many meets.

You were in N3L Row 12? Did that Tennessee guy harass you? :D

My wife and kid sat there. They said everyone was great! They did comment about one lady who was up in arms about Trace being the PSU athlete of the week, the lady kept saying how he had a terrible game. :)

Cool story, glad they enjoyed themselves. Too bad we didn't get to chat before the dual...next time.

Mostly regulars right around me, so they must have been further to the west. Plus, I've only met hlstone once, so unless there is an uncanny resemblance between him and his daughter, I wouldn't have noticed.

Also, I saw 9 and 11 on Ebay, but they were empty last night. Lots of room to spread out.

They said they may have sat in the wrong seats. My wife is 40 ish and the daughter is 12.
