The Big Ten said they will not dictate capacity. They will allow schools and state and local law to dictate. So this is on PSU, local and law requirements. PA is allowing full capacity on May 31. So that's removed. Now it is on Penn State. The Spikes across the street are going to full capacity on the 31st.A white out with a 50% capacity won’t be all that cool. I’m guessing that’s all the school/BOT/Big 10 allow.
If we’ve been reduced to having whiteouts for IU, then we suck. I respect Indiana, but they are not a rival. I say give the SEC a good look at Penn State game atmosphere and make Auburn the whiteout.More likely a stripe-out.....?
White out for either IU or UM.
I don't watch random SEC games...do you?
Does it really matter if they announce it or not as an "official" white out? Just show up in white and yell. LOL.If psu is already announcing this as a night game, it will no doubt be a whiteout
I keep hearing that we shouldn’t be surprised if restrictions come back in the fall due to flu season, so I’m still skeptical. The Big Ten said they will not dictate capacity. I will be shocked, very shocked, if we are not at 100%. The only variable is if the virus takes an unexpected turn that will impact far more than stadium capacities.

I agree and hope you’re right. I just don’t have a lot of faith in many of our decision makers. If that were to happen it would be a worse disaster than the original lockdown situation.
I just don't see any going back on reopening. This country cannot survive living in a state of on again, off again lockdown. It just won't happen, people will not stand for it. Far too many people have been broken due to the craziness of the past year and just when they think there is slight chance of hope we'll shutdown again due to flu and more covid.
There are multiple covid vaccines and of course, there is a yearly flu shot. People should take advantage of these options and live life.
It's time for some damn football!
Easy solution if people are concerned about this:I keep hearing that we shouldn’t be surprised if restrictions come back in the fall due to flu season, so I’m still skeptical.
Paints a nice picture, but won’t solve the problem.Easy solution if people are concerned about this:
Get your covid vaccine,
Get your seasonal flu vaccine,
Problem solved.
I'm not really sure where you're hearing this, I haven't been seeing this anywhere. PSU has stated before that they will follow whatever the state guidelines will be on capacity, so if the state has already allowed full outdoor capacity by July I don't see how it isn't full capacity for September.I keep hearing that we shouldn’t be surprised if restrictions come back in the fall due to flu season, so I’m still skeptical.
The flu? Not happening. I will stand by my prediction. 100% capacity at the start of the season.I keep hearing that we shouldn’t be surprised if restrictions come back in the fall due to flu season, so I’m still skeptical.
Not directly because of the flu, but because of the cooler weather and causing another spike in Covid cases. The flu? Not happening. I will stand by my prediction. 100% capacity at the start of the season.
Heard it on CBS news a couple of nights ago and CNN discussed it as well.I'm not really sure where you're hearing this, I haven't been seeing this anywhere. It will still be warm or hot when Auburn comes to town. Not directly because of the flu, but because of the cooler weather and causing another spike in Covid cases.
How will it not solve the problem? There will still be instances of both the flu and of covid, but they will not be a widespread problem.Paints a nice picture, but won’t solve the problem.
Alabama-Florida isn't a "random" SEC game. It's a rematch of the SEC title game between two programs with a combined 8 titles in the past 15 years.I don't watch random SEC games...do you?
I would watch almost any Big 10 match up rather than UF/UA.
Ala-Fla definitely not random, boring/familiar maybe, versus a "not in their top five matchup" of teams that have not played since 2003. Decisions, decisionsAlabama-Florida isn't a "random" SEC game. Your opinion is just as valid as mine. But doubt ESPN is going to see it that way when selecting the Gameday location.
Be careful what you wish for.
The Whiteout has become a bucket list item for many fans of other programs so it's not too surprising that a non conference opponent that rarely plays in Beaver Stadium would want it to be a whiteout so they can check that box.
My cousin, despite already having covid AND already getting the vaccine, was required to wear a mask by Penn State while he played his collegiate golf match just last week. Judging by how absurd Penn State has been about this thing, I'll be SHOCKED if there is a full house for this Auburn game.
Is there a rule that says only 1 "White Out" per year? Why not "White Out" 1 & 2? The t-shirts can be easily designed and sold. There would certainly be no problem with ticket sales.No. White out for Auburn
With every calm, rational, science-based thought I have, I firmly believe that by July 1, the pandemic will be "over" for the vast majority of this country (through natural immunity, prior covid infections, and vaccines). I believe most of this country will be back to normal - fully open, no attendance/capacity restrictions, no mask requirements, etc. Barring a complete reversal in covid trends (case counts, hospitalizations, and deaths), I am 99% optimistic we will have a full house at Beaver Stadium on 9/11/2021.My cousin, despite already having covid AND already getting the vaccine, was required to wear a mask by Penn State while he played his collegiate golf match just last week. Great, so Penn State will likely be the only program with limited capacity in their stadium. I can see it now.
Just noticed opening week has Bama-Mia as 3:30 ABC and UGA-Clemson 7:30 ABC.Any other times announced?
We plan on being there. Party early party late, it doesn’t matter!Just noticed opening week has Bama-Mia as 3:30 ABC and UGA-Clemson 7:30 ABC.
Could at Wisconsin end up being a noon Fox?
I’ve seen it predicted that our game vs Wisconsin will likely be noon on Fox. We’ll find out tomorrow when the first three weeks come outJust noticed opening week has Bama-Mia as 3:30 ABC and UGA-Clemson 7:30 ABC.
