Auburn prediction

Since Chris Fowler touted the front seven of Auburn as physical and nasty and commented that our OL has to hold up against their rush. They have 8 sacks against lesser opponents so far this year, but impressive none the less. Another poster stated that Auburn's DL was not that good after I mentioned that I believed they were stout, as they have been through the years. Comments please as to their DL......
I was the one that brought up the DL. It’s actually 9 sacks, not 8. I wouldn’t say that they’re bad, more of just an unknown against stronger competition. Colby Wooden and Derrick Hall are proven at DE with not a lot of proven depth behind them. Then we get into the interior. Our two starting DT’s transferred out. We moved an OG to DT and he ended up stunning everyone in fall training only to get an injury that has sidelined him for a few months. We brought in a NT from UAB that can plug gaps and a JUCO DT that has done extremely well in the pass rush so far (Marquis Burks, 2 sacks, 3 TFL). These are good numbers but the guys they’ve pushed around are in the 200’s lbs. The LB’s and secondary are proven against quality opponents, but only a couple players on the D line can say the same

Penn State 31 Auburn 17

17-17 in the third qtr when the defense or special teams gets a score. Penn State with a long drive int he 4th to put it away.

It's amazing more players didn't get hurt in that game. Perhaps they did and I don't remember. I remember Tony Hunt breaking Auburn's will.

Was that the same game their stud RB (forget his name) got dinged early in the ear hole and didn't return? I remember a momentum shift after that because we couldn't stop that kid.

Small recollection of both games.

Tony Hunt was against Tennessee.

That's a pretty confident statement based on one year. It will be interesting to hear your opinion after the game.
Well - the praise for auburns running backs seems about right. Bigsby was the best back on the field yesterday- though ours didn’t get much help from the line.

Tank is just a pure downhill runner. Deceptive size and speed combo. Credit to our defense, we didn't let him break free like all the RBs did against us last year.

Hunter is a Barkley-esqe freak. Kid was a 700-800 diamond in the coal seam. Squats over 600 lbs. He almost broke one big on us.

A lot of credit to our DBs. They took these guys head on and made stops instead of whiffs.
