Awwww Pitt

Poor ASWP. Feel bad for Little Brother.
No kin here. I would put equate them to that angry, annoying little sh&ithead kid that you tried to avoid passing on your bikes, in case he tried to tag along. You whooped them when they got all tough then they went complaining back to family. Read the thread on Franco getting honored and how it devolved into vile posts about PSU.

We’re at an interesting point when it comes to talent. I think this is the first time I can say that Pitt has guys that are near the top of the ACC in every position unit, aside from the receivers and defensive backs. Where recruiting has really hurt us is depth, with the exception of the defensive line. Just too many areas where talent quickly thins out.

Ultimately, I think that’s what will hold us back and keep us around the same level as schools like Utah. No disrespect to them because they’re a very good program, but there’s also a ceiling there.
You seem like a good poster - funny I got banned for life it seem on the Pitt board because I pushed back on a ling Pedo rank by someone. Some of those people are real knuckle draggers.

Yeah, there’s people that take it too far. I’ve said it on here before, but I come from a split family (Pitt and Penn State fans) so I try not to engage in that stuff because I wouldn’t say the same things to them. They didn’t cover anything up, nor did you.

I’m also not a fan of all that BS in general; I just want to talk football. I don’t normally post here and the other sites I’m on (UCF, Tennessee, national board) just to chirp or talk smack. That’s for Twitter or those other social sites.

Pretty amazing when all spring ball and this summer we kept hearing about how great their o line would be since all dive starting lineman came back for another year. Are they healthy? What happened?
What happened was that Picket was not back there with his pocket awareness and quick feet to get out of trouble.

What happened was that Addison was not getting open almost instantaneously where the pitt QB had his choice to take the quick throw or wait for the big play and potentially scramble, as Picket was so adept at but Slovis is not. Slovis more so resembles a statue than he does resemble Pickett. And after the 2nd team QB got dinged he turned into a statue as well.

What happened, happened 4, 5 and 6 years ago when Duzzy had to settle for a collection of 2 star olinemen and now that Pickett is gone they actually have to pass protect straight up and they were overwhelmed by the Tennessee DL that actually is athletic and strong.

Why is it negative to say bowls are meaningless?
They are--the kids know that--why don't the adults?
It's not negative. It's just not true.

Bowl game reflect on a program more than any one win or loss once a team is eliminated from it's conference championship and or the playoff.

Recruits follow bowl games just as much as any other nice match up for the teams they are interested in. The fact that payers opt out just means that those players have chosen not to risk their potential NFL furture, not that they would not like to play and see their team win a game on national TV.

Even the fact that some coaches try and make the bowl experience a reward for the players and staff that travel to the bowl festivities does not make the game meaningless. Players that play in the bowl game have the same sense of pride to compete that they do in any other game they play in. And for the younger players that may be getting a chance to play due to opt outs it's those young players chance to get a leg up on a starting position for the next season.

The argument that the game is not important and players don't care about the game due to players opting our is like saying that when teams have a couple injuries to key players that causes the team to not care and therefor the games without those players is meaningless. Opt outs are just something else that coaches have to deal with, but it doesn't make any game meaningless. Just like Parsons opting out of the 2020 season didn't make the 2020 season meaningless for PSU.

You keep preaching your opinion but it's a false doctrine, and just another excuse for some team's poor performances in bowl games.

Don't they give out a trophy to the winning team too for a "meaningless" game?
Yeah, because we're living in the past. Bowls see these games as a way to bring money to the city but we all know they mean absolutely nothing in the grand scheme of things which is why kids are sitting out. Kids don't sit out the playoff games as they're relevant and meaningful.

What meaning do you believe these games have? Simply pride? That's not meaningful
