B1G Tournament Session 1 Thread

Really, perhaps you should brush up on your reading skills before you open your mouth next time. This is precisely what he said:

Which is utter nonsense as the NCAA Most Dominant Statistics demonstrate (Nolf is averaging 5.47 team points per outing - IOW, he pins his man roughly 92% of the time, but yea, he's just a "TD and release guy", again LMFAO!
Your math skills are severely lacking.
If a guy wrestles 2 times, pins one guy and techs another guy, his dominant wrestler ranking would be 5.5. He pins guys 50% of the time, but you are claiming he pins guys 5.5/6 = 91.67% of the time.

Oh, my.

Nolf gets his share of falls and is right up there with Zain and Bo. I didn't run the numbers so I could be totally wrong but I would speculate that Nolf has a comfortable lead in TDs compared to the other two though. He seems to enjoy playing with his food before totally devouring it. Sometimes it's as if he's out there drilling and getting some work in before putting the opponent out of his misery.
Dual takedowns on the year: Nolf 79, Retherford 41.

Negative comments.

Will a prior AA ranked top 20 which has to lose the next two matches to not remotely qualify, qualify? Sorry steel but wayyyyyyy to ptemature.
Why do so many people seem so testy today? Come on guys....we're going to be celebrating a big ten championship tommorrow night. Try to cheer up!

You believe what you want to believe. There's very few people on this board that has been more supportive of Jimmy than I have been. I asked a legit question and wanted an answer.

Retherford: 13 falls, 2 TF in 19 matches
Nolf: 11 falls, 6 TF in 19 matches

Neither is "averaging virtually a pin per match rate." They are both wrestling almost exactly halfway between a TF (5) per match and a pin (6) per match rate. Are 5.47 and 5.42 closer to 5 or 6?

If you look at Nolf's falls versus Zain's falls this year, Nolf's scoring per bout, prior to the fall is likely much, much higher than Zain's, making him a TD/release wrestler. And, RVARZR did not use the word "just" in his post. You put that word in his mouth

He said Nolf was a "TD and release guy first and foremost" which is laughable - so why don't you go back and add up all the NF points Nolf accumulated in those matches he won by TF genius. Nolf now has 12 Falls in 20 matches and his 6 TF are by 19-4 (6:01), 25-10 (6:04), 25-9 (6:39), 22-4 (4:09), 26-11 (6:45) and 24-9 (7:00)....so his average winning TF score was 23.50 - 7.83, sorry but you don't get to those numbers via "TD and release". IOW, Nolf is averaging something like 8-9 NF points in his TF wins even if we account for a RT point. Jason has regularly taken wrestlers from neutral to their backs for 6-point moves and pins.....and to characterize him as a "TD and release first and foremost" is silly as all DOMINANT WRESTLERS start with the TD in taking their man to the mat!

Again genius, ALL dominant wrestlers start with a TD.

After seeing BoJo's results today, I'm almost thinking Hall is the favorite at 174 this weekend. IF he were to win, what seed could you all see him getting at NCAA's? As high as a 3 possibly?

A relative of mine talked to Cael's dad at the HS state tournaments around here, and told him we were happy that Cael pulled Hall's rshirt and that he was competing. Steve's response was "I told him to do that a long time ago!" I thought it was funny

In duals, Zain has scored 4 nearfall 2's, and 8 nearfall 4's. Nolf has scored 0 nearfall 2's and 5 nearfall 4's.

So, in duals Nolf has scored 158 points by TD and 20 by nearfall.
Zain has scored 96 points by TD and 40 by nearfall.

Where you get your 8-9 from, I don't know.

About 90 percent of this, and every board, piled on before the shirt.

They've been dead silent since.

3 if Realbuto wins EIWAs.
2 if Preisch beats Realbuto.

Its necessity was becoming crystal clear weeks before it happened. The great thing is that doing it early helped Mark get his clunkers out early and become comfortable. I love him in a tournament setting being one of the few guys not worrying at all about weight.

He murders Meyer, for example, if he wrestles him again

Yea, pinning your guy 92% of your starts (and being #2 in the NCAA's Most Dominant Wrestler Standings heading into Conference Tournaments by 5 one-hundredths of a point 5.42 to 5.47) is really just being a "TD and release guy first and foremost". Oh well:

Good God, I'm a Farrier, do not post horse pics on this site! Lol.

Has Cael made a bad decision yet with these late season decisions.
- English; check
- Lawson; check
- morelli; check
- Nevills; well...he was hurt but best we got...check
- Hall; check
- law; push

as the best recruiter in the land, he does make some good coaching decisions....every now and then

because its me and its here, this will seem like a homer pick, but I think Nevills beat Medberry.

I love the BoJo lossing pick. I also like Nate Jackson to win.

Something in the air tonight says there are more upsets coming.

Didn't Jackson get injured in his match?

Sorry Steel, guess I was being testy and read too much into you question and grouped you into the negative nelly basket. I was taken back as I usually love your posts which I agree are pro team. Jimmy going for 7th is in and I really don't think too many want him first round.
