Back to reality

I still don't understand why anyone couldn't admit those teams weren't good
We'll still win today--it's just not as easy as it should be and it might be Allar time
Because there are fanboys and homers on this website (we know who they are) that insult and scoff at anyone who dares question the caliber of this team and be critical of positions, performance, etc. The same problems JF's teams have had are still here...maybe not to as large an extent, but they are still there. I won't take away that winning on the road in CFB is very hard to do, no matter who you play...but Purdue and Auburn, at least so far, look average at best.

Kaytron's vision is tremendous and probably should get as many, if not more carries, than Nick. Let Kaytron carry the ball to set up short yardage situations, and then have Nick really use his speed when we get ahead of the sticks....Kaytron looks like the better early down back.

Let’s see. We are 3-0 and winning by 19 in the fourth quarter. Some of us don’t have a meltdown every time we punt.

Don’t get me wrong, Franklin has his flaws. But, we also have some talent.

Lol...ok. Who is having a meltdown? There is a difference b/w being critical and then saying "we suck" "Jf sucks" etc. That is lazy. But, there aren't too many positives about today's performance. The process as to how you get to a win matters, whether you think it or not. Doing well on a test in school even though the steps you took to get the right answer aren't the best way long term to get there, doesn't mean you are on the right track.

Phoned it in. Two of the first three games away and emotionally draining. A workmanlike effort devoid of heart. Not surprising, really.

This was Central Michigan, obvious letdown

This was Central Michigan, expected let down from last week. O Line is still the concern. Great job forcing turnovers and we have a back go for over 100 yds.

We got the W. Next week we better be careful. Fitzgerald has made a career out of getting his teams to play out their butts and rise up to spank someone.

Wonder how many on this board never played football or coached it? What makes them an expert is posting here

I agree we have talent, what concerns me is how we are using it, especially on defense.

Hey Georgia was a 45 point favorite over Kent State they won by 17 today. We forget sometimes these are college kids consistency isn’t always a given
Do you think anyone that has an interest in Georgia (Smart, any coach, any player, any fan) walked away from them game happy with how they played as a team?

Georgia strives to win titles. They're going to scrutinize that game--including their fans. They'll try to get better and won't talk about how well they played.

Actually I am more concerned with the Defense than I am with the offense line.

Scrutiny:
-we give up too many underneath throws
-tackling too soft at times today, we were happy to get there, they wanted another yard
-Singleton looking for home run balls every touch vs just plowing ahead
-Clifford taking too much time to throw and Yurcich for not calling any easy throw to get his accuracy back in line (started 8/8, was 12/20 12 passes later)
-FG kicking sucks. I'd send Pinegar on his way and focus on SS. If he can't make do by seasons end, Hello Portal.

Praise:
-Allen running for chunks. 8 ypc, 37 was his long. Excellent alternative to Singleton.
-Strange is becoming a great 3rd down and red zone target. Could have thrown his way 10+ times today easily.
-turnovers. Defense is causing them.
-we got 3 CBs who can match-up 1v1 with WRs without safety help so far. Going to need that later.
-LB unit is getting experience and depth. If you don't feel 15x better today than you did vs Purdue, you really should just go watch Georgia and Alabama exclusively.
-punting is probably better at the inside the 10 game this year than last year.
-Wallace 3 slowly developing into a viable target.

Considering how liberal we subbed this game, and that we didn't expose anything to stop them, not bad for what is looking like Sleepwalker Saturday for multiple teams.

Good stuff...only one I disagree is the LB group. Elsdon is slow...Sutherland is brutal in crossing routes and playing in space. They pointed out at least twice today he was out of position. Outside of Jacobs and Carter, that group is average at best

One of "our" major problems is the lack of elite fans.

Damn, we're 4-0 and haven't run up 70 points on every team we played.
Damn, we haven't turned the ball over yet.
Damn, our elite frosh are as good as advertised.
Damn, Old Man Clifford hasn't thrown an interception.
Damn, we have some great cornerbacks.
Damn, we may be better than anyone expected we would be.
Damn, I've nothing to bitch about but I'll try really hard to find something negative to say about this team, Franklin, our soft schedule or the beer served at Beaver Stadium.
Damn, just damn.

Well prepared fans are a key to any championship run.

All teams strive to win titles. I believe that they've won 1 title in 40 years. They sucked worse than PSU did today, but both won that's all that really matters.

Don't try to talk reason with this dipshit - he's a troll through & through. Not just UGa struggling mightily with Kent State (was a 10 point game with only 8 minutes remaining), but this CMU team put up 44 points against the current #9 rank team in the Country, Oklahoma State (they lost 58-44 to Okie State). But according to this asshat, this means that Okie State sucks way worse than we do and is wildly over-rated.

Also, Maryland was unranked and according to this idiot, a team that should be curb-stomped if you're truly a title team.... - guess what, scUM struggled mightily with them. This guy is so tiresome with his bs always attempting to demean PSU when you can point out the same thing about any of the top teams (UGa against Kent State today.... Bama could have easily lost to Texas who lost again today to TX Tech - they're not a top 25 team.... Clemson against WF today... etc., etc. Etc.....).

Right--Georgia under Richt and others didn't get the job done. Richt was a great guy but should have been fired long before he was.

And they both played down to the level of their opponent more than they should have but, yes, they both won which is all that matters.

I agree we should have played much better today, let’s just say there is a lot of cochable moments today
Yes there are. Couldn’t watch the game today so I listened to it on the radio. Ham said both of the TDs were on coverage breakdowns. That happens when you substitute so much of defense. On the hand, playing kids in meaningful situations will help down the road. The did shut out a pretty good offense in the second half. Seems like the 14-0 start resulted in them thinking the game was over. Despite the fact that the inevitable complaining by the experts is flowing freely, overall about what I expected.

Oklahoma State was up was 51-15 early in the third before Central Michigan put up garbage points.
