The good news is that fans like this would be disappointed by any coach we ever have. So it’s not Franklin, it’s anyone.
I used to hear the same thing at swim meets for my boys. There's always a couple of idiot loud mouth moms who think their kids can hear them at a meet while wearing swim caps that cover the ears.
Well last year is last year, and 2020 is 2020...what I'm looking for is a BETTER record this year and 8-4 would do that...but right now 8-4 means a .500 finish after some very promising things happening in the first 4 games. That's the essence of it

If you are 4-0 the coach can tell you that the next game is the biggest one in your life......and you believe him. If you are 0-4 you don't hear much of what he says.

UGa was in a one possession game midway through the 4th QTR against Kent State, who isn't even any good in the MAC! OTOH, CMU is one of the favorites to make it to the Mid-American Conference Championship Game from the West Division.
Yep, I’m not saying psu is big ten championship bound, playoff bound , or national champs. I look forward to watch every game , if they win great , lose I’m disappointed . It’s been 28 years since psu had an undefeated team so odds are we lose.
I recall a close game again at Illinois that we needed a huge comeback to win. A team that was anywhere near us in rankings.
While that is true , one possession wins against unranked teams would have these guys spazzing .

Agree with you completely. You look at any of the remaining undefeated teams and you can point to this type of game (i.e., played an unranked team far closer than expected). As has been said many times, 1-0 every week (i.e., the win) that's all that matters at the end of the day. CMU has a very respectable offense if you look up the stats - very respectable. One could argue that this win was very helpful for our defense - they're still learning (especially the freshman players CJF and Diaz are blending in), so they'll benefit far more from playing a quality offense than an awful one.
