More rationalizations from Mr. Know it all. OSU scored on their first possession of 2nd half to take that lead. CMU then scored then scored 4 TDs in the 2nd Half (OSU scored one more TD early in the 4th) making the final 58-44. The entire 2nd half was not "garbage time" especially when a team halves your lead in the 3rd QTR.... and continued to close the gap in the 4th QTR such that the final ended up 58-44! But according to you OSU wasn't trying and paid no attention after CMU put up TD after TD. That's not how it works dope.
You think Kentucky fans were happy tied at 14-14 or trying to claim NIU is a good team?
I don't think the PSU coaches and players were satisfied with their total effort today. What is said in the locker room tiday and film session tomorrow will be different than what is said publically. We as fans are not privy to the internal discussions. This team has alot of potential with some outstanding young talent that is coming along. I am not predicting a B1G East title but I see much improvement from last season and many areas where the trajectory is up, not down.
Maryland is a garbage team and scUM struggled mightily with them - scUM sucks and is wildly over-rated.
I am sure the fan scrutiny will make all the difference.
Michigan (again, you calling them scUM is childish especially for someone elderly) may be overrated and they performed today was not impressive. Yet again, that's what happens when you don't play anyone with a pulse. People overrate you--just like when people start believing Purdue and Auburn are "good" wins.

Michigan is clearly the better team when they play PSU. So everyone including you should expect them to win. That way you don’t have to be upset if PSU loses. You can have a break from being upset when PSU wins. What a troll.
How is it trolling to expect us to beat Purdue, Auburn, Ohio and Central Michigan?
And I won't be upset if Michigan beats us. I'm hoping we can pull off the upset but I'm realistic about our chances.

I made money on the PSU game today. That outcome was very predictable. Whine at home about being 4 and 0 but not up to your standards.

I literally didn't complain at all today. I stated the fact that we were sleepwalking through the game early. Wasn't shocked by that. Like you, I've been watching Franklin for year. Same reason I said all last week we would kill Auburn like we did.
I don't understand why people think there's any "whining" going on. I'm content with where we are. We'll beat Northwestern next week then we'll see how good we are.
You already know how good we are. We have less talent than Michigan and OSU. We have Franklin as a coach. The season is over. Watch your Steelers.

Michigan is good and Corum is going to be a problem...BUT...watch what I said about McCarthy. If it's McCarthy, not McNamara, Penn State has a legit 50-50 shot to win.
Yeah, I'm hoping we can force McCarthy into some mistakes. That could be the difference in the game if he has a turnover or two. Worried about scUM having success just pounding it with Corum. On offense we have to be able to run a little. Having both Singleton and Allen is a big advantage. Utilizing the tight ends is an advantage we need to exploit. Strange has emerged as a legitimate offensive weapon.
I watched most of that Michigan game and McCarthy was rattled all day. They won strictly with the running game.
8-4 would be a bit of a let down at this point, but yeah, it looks like an 8-4 team UNLESS they can solve the field goal situation and the interior D line problems.

I'm not convinced we lose to Maryland however because we have them at home. But, I can see us losing at Indiana after three straight poundings. We have developed into the perennial Big Ten team that starts off like they are the real deal then fades as competition gets tougher... Michigan State and Minnesota have played that role many seasons. Minnesota is for real this time however.
We clearly weren’t at our best today but look around a lot of the heavy favorites didnt come any where close to covering and some lost
I guess the OP of this thread expected Penn State to win 50-0 because Central Michigan is a MAC school. But not every Power 5 school wins like that every week against non-Power 5 opponents and that actually doesn't happen like that in the majority of these matchups. Penn State averaged 5.5 yards a carry over an opponent that has held opponents to under 3.5 per attempt for the last 4 years. Penn State rushed for 170 yards on 31 carries. (the last carry was a minus 4 by Allar on a kneel down). So what's the problem? They won. The result was never in doubt.
I happen to think any win is a good win. When our losses begin piling up, I'll get on the "we are all bums" wagon. Until then, I'm going to try to enjoy football season. As for some on this board, I don't think they know how to enjoy any sports, or for that matter, life in general.
I don’t think they realize that if you watch every game and pick any team apart like we do PSU, you will find holes. I’ve watched every Kentucky game this year and they have way more holes than we do, but I’m still pretty confident they will win 10 games. Every team has weaknesses including the teams they play and every game is different. I kept reading last year how we were going to get blown out by Michigan and OSU because of how we played against Nova and then Iowa. Guess what, we didn’t.
I'm enjoying this season without pretending our wins are more impressive than they are...
I don't understand why people seem to think expecting to beat bad teams then being content when we do is somehow not enjoying it. Watching the RBs develop alone is enjoyable.

Yes back to reality. The “we deserve better” critics will be out in full force. Waiting for the first clown to claim yesterday’s win was really a “loss” since the team didn’t win by a big enough margin or demonstrate enough “style” points to satisfy them. Predictable as the sun rising in the East.

I don't understand why being honest about how good Purdue and Auburn are "a downer". Why do you have to pretend they're better than they are to enjoy being 4-0 with a horrible Northwestern next and then we'll see how we are following that. We all know nothing has been proven yet with this schedule. Why is it a "downer" to acknowledge that?
A win is a win is a win. I don't think anyone after that game felt worse or better about our chances this year.
Ya, but look at the rest of the Big. Sparty is not very good. Michigan is flawed. Minnesota is playing well but not more talented than PSU. If PSU loses more than 2 games this year, Franklin will have underachieved again.
Completely agree. On the way to the game yesterday, I was arguing with my friend, who was convinced PSU would win by 60 and Singleton would have 300 yards rushing. I said that this was a classic letdown game after the emotional win in SEC land last week, and that CMU would likely sell out to stop the run.
Team looked flat. I hope they can learn from this game and bring their best next week with Northwestern.
