I'm looking for the board's advice. I paid a premium for 2 tix for this Sunday vs Nebby. I also live 3hrs away. Right now the forecast shows 9-12" of snow that weekend. Would that cancel the dual? What does everyone think- sell now? Wait and see?
My advice is to wait and see, if it looks like it will be too bad to drive then walk.I'm looking for the board's advice. I paid a premium for 2 tix for this Sunday vs Nebby. I also live 3hrs away. Get there the night before. Stay in a hotel. Maybe stay Sunday night, too. Enjoy the beauty of SC in the snow. Enjoy a nice meal, a few drinks. My advice is to wait and see, if it looks like it will be too bad to drive then walk.
Up here in Erie, we call that beach weather.Below the Mason Dixon line that is a state of emergency, above the line, it's a dusting. I doubt they cancel.
I have never known them to cancel a dual, not that I can remember, I would think that Neb will be flying in on Friday
Freaking pricelessMy advice is to wait and see, if it looks like it will be too bad to drive then walk.
A number of years ago a dual meet with Oklahoma was canceled due to weather when Oklahoma couldn’t make it in...unless I’m dreaming because I drove up for the match in really crappy weather only to find out it was cancelled
Ticket prices are most likely plummeting on secondary markets...better sell quick or you won't be able to give them away. I could take them off you're hands for $5.
Just kidding...i have tickets also and will have to start watching the weather myself. My problem is Mrs. JA may not approve of me risking my life to trek the 90 miles in a snowstorm for a wrestling match. Not sure if telling her a 50+ match winning streak is on the line will help much either.
Quite honestly I'd hitch a ride on a snowcat up Seven Mtns. to get there if I had to.
I've listed them on a secondary market- like you, the Mrs. might not approve of the trek. If the weather doesn't improve and they don't sell- I might be back here Sunday giving them away. It's disappointing- I'll miss lots of good matchups plus hanging out with my old bud from school (he does the Clearfield wrestling radio pbp).

As of right now Accuweather says the Sunday weather forecast for SC is Considerable cloudiness, a chance for a bit of snow or flurries; breezy. Doesn't sound like a problem to me. Of course, by Sunday it could be a blizzard.
I’m from the 80s, too (from a different area). I don’t mind being a fossil; I just hope I’m not a coprolite!I'm a fossil from 1980!
Just tell your wife you are all paid up on your life insurance premiums, she may even pack snacks for youTicket prices are most likely plummeting on secondary markets...better sell quick or you won't be able to give them away. I could take them off you're hands for $5.

I have skied from my house to Rec before--so I'm planning on being there.
Ullr, I believe.
During to Erie from Reading Thursday after work. Forecast show snow everyday for the next week......Up here in Erie, we call that beach weather.
Well we are due for some, it has been pretty mild up this way. All the storms that have been hitting PA have stayed south of us. Safe travels.During to Erie from Reading Thursday after work. Forecast show snow everyday for the next week......
Sunday, February 10th is the only mutual off Friday or Sunday left on the schedule. Penn State is at Ohio State that Friday night, and Nebraska hosts Minnesota the same night. I know the Big Ten doesn't generally like to have teams fly from small-market (Lincoln) to small-market (State College) on a two-dual weekend, but it looks unavoidable in this instance.Nebraska not being able to get there because of the weather is probably the only reason the dual would be cancelled and they are wrestling at MD on Friday night so will probably be in SC Saturday morning.
Well I think you may be in luck, if we get hit as bad as folks are saying that will cancel flights for a day and that will in turn back up all flights. Naturally you won’t be back in Charlotte on Monday as planned and in state college instead. Can’t ask for anything better , I say that having been down in Charlotte before on a short business trip so can say with some authority you want be missing anything. Enjoy the extra day and grab the world known ice cream. So, I'm planning to come north from Charlotte, NC for Sunday's meet. I've modified my plans to travel on Friday and return on Monday, so I should be fine travel wise. What are the odds two feet of snow on Saturday messes with my weekend? Any idea when such a call would be made?
Accuweather still forecasting 6-10"
