Bad weather for Nebraska

ummm.. I have a wedding in NoVa on Saturday and am thinking of driving on up Sunday morn (since 99 takes you right into to town). I am assuming easy to get good tickets out front... will probably need two.

I actually think it will be harder to get tickets because people won't be there with their extra tickets. For me, if I don't go, it's going to be a last minute thing so I'm not selling now and I wouldn't be there to sell them later. I actually think unless State College people fill up the place, it might be the first time in recent memory that it isn't full. (Still a sell out though)

Hopefully, the storm finishes early enough that people can go.

I will barbecue extra hard today in California. That will increase global warming and evaporate your snow before it hits the ground. You're welcome! :)
Smoking a large rack of ribs tomorrow from Central Texas. Wood or course (never electric). A State Law I believe. Also cooking up the first steaks from a deer my neighbor took from my ranch this year. I don't hunt, but certainly partake in the benefits.

Hopefully Nebraska leaves after tonight's match or early tomorrow as PennDot announced they are shutting down the interstates at noon tomorrow for commercial traffic which includes buses.

The Gov just declared a State of Emergency in PA. He said no commercial traffic including buses on most highways. Nebraska might not be able to make it.

With the State of Emergency being declared for PA, what are the odds of the match being cancelled for Sunday? Could it be scheduled for Monday since it is a holiday and most people are off, plus the fact that Nebraska already is on the East coast? The other thing to take in to account is the university needs to clear the snow out of their parking lots and that creates a liability on their part when they host an event during inclement weather.

The roads will be fine on Sunday. Crews are already ready to go....I was concerned until I talked with an Engineer from Penn dot today....Gonna be a great dual meet....

No clue what the odds are. May depend on timing of the storm vs Nebraska travel times. Sounds like the best chance is if they leave tonight after their match or very early tomorrow morning.

Yea they better keep the parking lots clean ....in case a coach challenges someone to meet him in the parking lot. Oops sorry, that's another team's coach ;)

Storm hit northeast Iowa this morning. 5 inches and still snowing as no blowing. Headed your way boys and girls.

Temps looking to warm earlier than expected now—rain after 11 tonight now. 7-10” now, but the rain could make that shrink.

Weather down graded to 4 to 8 inches. Roads will be fine tomorrow. Pen dot already out putting liquid on the roads.
Real or fake...please take extra care doing any driving today or tomorrow. This storm is not to be taken lightly. State College area still looking at 8-12".

Snow turning to wintry mix about 1:00, followed by a few hours of rain, only for the bottom to drop out of the temperature. By the time I need to leave Lewisburg, 45 should be a sheet of ice. Good thing my wife's new car has that driver's assist. I should be able to drive 90 or so. :)

Hope the wife "liked" her new car :) Be safe.

I'm out. Western Pa became crappy between 2:00 am and 7:00 am. If it's bad here 22 and 99 would be horrible. My Car collission deductable is too high. The old guns and butter argument. I need those funds to pay the scalpers outside PPG Paints Arena.

9:00am: Stopped snowing for the most part, and the temperature dive has started. Forecast is 18 degrees at 1:00pm (match time). Major roads plowed, most minor ones too, some slushy travel conditions locally that will soon freeze. Didn't get even 8 inches where I live, but it's a wet, dense snow that easily would have topped 10-12" had it been the soft, powdery type.

Anyone travelling, please take your time and arrive safely.
