Bearcat open

Dom proving he's a very capable backup who can win a few spot starts if ever necessary. 9-3 over Austin Harry, who has 30 wins over the last 2 years as a starter for Army.
Not much difference than Cortez did with him. Harry's tough. I know there is a guy on here sometimes that is a big fan. Lake Lehman kid.

Nope. It was a cradle! Boom!

Best depth in years!
Pipher is a pinner, though college muscle is different than high school muscle, and he's had to work hard and continue to improve...which he has. Guys in front of him are really good, great to have in the room though...and one just never knows. Mentioning here, as the TEAM is made up of 37 wrestlers.

And LP, thanks for the updates...

To my eye, Manville still a touch too slow getting to legs. However, he did horse Tarantino on a counter and put in a good ride.

Trent Hidlay-Brandon Womack quarterfinal should be a good one. Manville would get the winner if he beats Navy's Andrew Buckley

Gardner with a 12-4 win over Burkhart to advance to semifinal.

Pipher currently wrestling D'Angelo. D'Angelo beat Berge at this tournament a year ago. 3-0 D'Angelo in the 3rd.

Edit: Pipher loses 4-0

Manville wins 6-2 with nearly 4 minutes of riding time. Had a penalty point go against him for a hard crossface. He did score off of a leg attack!

He will wrestle Trent Hidlay in the semi (6-4 win over Womack)

I don't know who Sal Jones is, but I started watching with Jack Davis in a 7-2 hole. Somehow came back to take the match into SV, even though he wasn't really wrestling with much urgency. He was ridden out in the first tiebreak, then gave up an escape in the second. Luckily he got a bodylock with 5 seconds left and won 12-9.

Jones with a feet to back in the first for 6 to put Davis in the hole.

Jones is from Long Island I think. Maybe a state placer (high), maybe placed at NHSCAs. Just going by memory. Tough kid probably just out of the rankings type in HS, IIRC

Hoeg loses 11-5

Any way to get Beard enrolled for the Spring in case of emergency? He doesn't need that grayshirt anymore with Cassar moving up. But then again, having redshirt flexibility would be nice if AJ Ferrari is a big target.

Since I complained about Flo last weekend, here is a Track complaint list.
1. The popups. I can live with them, but NOT when they bring up and auto-run a video. This is the reason I installed a video blocker in Chrome.

2. The filters reset too often and I have to go and reset them. I can work around this by not navigating all over the place and keeping one main browser window on the dashboard.

3. Brackets. I can get them to work, but the navigation/buttons make no sense. "View" never works. Maybe because I block pop-ups? And I have to use Print. It'd be nice to open 10 pages, one for each weight, and refresh them as needed.

All of the above refer to non-paid usage of Track.

Was a little surprised by that Dom result, but sometimes you don't match up well. Dom is conventional. He has one move that really works for him. Some funk can get him.

A little surprised as well. Sparacio is a 33lber who had to move up for the team. But then again nothing really surprises me in a consy bracket anymore.

Gardner-Richard was a solid match...well besides a bonehead takedown Gardner gave up on the edge in the 3rd. Hunter Richard isn't bad. Should be an interesting wrestleoff with Koll.

10-7 was the score

Pipher goes down. Hmmmm I'm feeling a little underwhelmed after a good start. Oh well, at least they are out here competing.

yet another kid whose development surpassed Mason. It will be another dozen or so by the time he's in contention to start. Starocci was a need pickup.

Really makes you wonder about Carson

Surprised by Vito's outing. Guess my LMS picks took a nosedive when he lost to Tucker 7-5 in the finals (and only decisions enroute to the finals).

Tucker is real tough on his feet and very difficult to ride. Makes a good combination. IMO Vito is not super elite in folkstyle on his feet and he's very good on the mat, so Tucker is not the greatest matchup for him.

Not to say I wasn't surprised as well. But they are in the same room and I'd imagine the battle for the spot will go on into the new year. I expect Vito will end up on top at some time, he is a scrapper. I think Vito would absolutely kill it at 125 with his skill set, but I understand the hesitation given his older brother. He obviously thinks 133 is the best weight to compete at and who am I to say different?

Mason is indeed an inigma. Carson shows no signs of showing down, the kid is a monster, I just hope Mason's lack of Folk development in our room doesn't tarnish or chances to land Carson. Unless we see a change in his trajectory he is a must get!
