Beard at Journeymen on Sunday

I want Beard to learn the moves. If he has to learn what they feel like by having Dean torque him and turn him, that's fine. If he learns so well that he can torque and turn Dean, so much the better. The goal is to have extremely motivated and capable wrestlers at every weight with backup wrestlers who are almost as good. Go team.
Because Varner using the same move on him wasn't enough?

Point well taken. Some wrestlers don't learn as well from their coaches as they do from other wrestlers in the room. Beard has talent. I hope he maximizes his use of it for a great career. He's at the best place to win a championship.

I’m taking @tjb249 ’s word for it that Beard is extremely motivated and capable. I’m also believing my eyes that he is. Saw it last season, in fact.

And nothing says he has to utilize the same moves as any other.

It’s November. I understand it is a long offseason, but it seems like some people
are overly amped. Just watch and enjoy the journey. I’m sure most (if not all) of the guys are giving their best. Coaches too.

Bingo. The best moves for any wrestler to learn are one that complement his existing repertoire.

As far as Beard learning the bow and arrow goes: ask Gavin Hoffman about that.

Funny, I stopped just short of using Hoffman as an example of just how motivated Beard can be (visibly). Man, he was pumped.

Michael was taught the bow and arrow by yours truly at the age of 9. Unfortunately, the move is illegal until you get to college outside of freestyle, which is complete BS in my opinion. He’s been in one of the best youth and high school programs in the country since he was 8 and exposed to every tournament and coach at every level from a young age. Moves are not an issue.

Thank you for giving back to the sport we love.
