Beard had easy time with Lehigh's JT Davis, winning 28-8. But more importantly, Beard looked fairly spry deep in the third in an active match. He also looks like he hit the weight room.
Beard 22-8 MD over Davis of Lehigh. Hit a ton TDs. Gas tank looks improved.

Beard looks great in these matches. Quality opponent perhaps not greatest but can’t ask for more out of MB.
Looking at the bracket, Beard has Army starter JT Brown next for the title. Brown was EIWA runner up last year and went 1-2 at Nationals.

Matt Lee is wrestling 165lbs. at the Bearcat Open. wins 23-8, then leading 12-5 wins by DQ and won his 3rd match 14-7 over Cody Walsh from Drexel. Gets Julian Ramirez of Cornell next
Beard wins the final 14-6. Looked pretty good.
On Flo bracket it has Brown as the winner of Pool B and Beard as winner of Pool A.
Hmm, Beard has always been pretty good turner--tilts specifically--14 points today from top. I do wish he wouldn't have given up that double at the buzzer though.

That was wince-worthy. He couldn't get a good turn going and didn't use his legs to help. I'm sure he will get worked by Dean!
Might have something in Matt Lee. Comes from behind to win somewhat comfortably over Ramirez

dont know what you were watching but his ride was pretty good and no where near gassing!!ROFLMFAO
I had my Rose-colored glasses on and the sound on. Coaches told Beard to let him up and go for another TD. He let him up with 30 sec left but got taken down late and was breathing heavily ...mouth wide open. He looked good but lets be accurate
Like I said, Beard scores more on top than many of our guys. Not against tier 1 guys, but not everyone can be Zain. I get the gas tank concerns completely—but I think he’s a beast on top.

I want Beard to learn the moves. If he has to learn what they feel like by having Dean torque him and turn him, that's fine. If he learns so well that he can torque and turn Dean, so much the better. The goal is to have extremely motivated and capable wrestlers at every weight with backup wrestlers who are almost as good. Go team.
